I'm confused about the SOP. It's not a mandatory document.
The thing is my current job profile is related to Marketing (though in the electrical industry). I've done BE in Electrical and now going for MEng. in Electrical.
Submitting a SOP might just convince the VO to reject the visa on the basis of non-alignment of my studies with my work ex.

I've got a letter from the HR mentioning my job duties (slightly different language used and Marketing as such not mentioned directly).

Any inputs on this?

I agree that applying end of April is a good decision.Also VAC states that they cannot accept applications for study permit 120 days before the date of travel.

Good chance actually. I had a slightly lower GPA i.e. 7.01, that is the only reason I couldn't apply to Calgary.
Ottawa is easy. Let me know if you go ahead with Concordia as we'll be classmates.
