Sorry to hear that. You should re-apply as soon as possible. They're going to make some changes into FSW soon.
Not happening. I'm tired of being pushed around and spending that much money for nothing; the letter was very clear that my duties were ones of a biologist and not of a teaching assistant.
I'm thinking if I try, I'll use the CEC stream, and I'll be the accompanying spouse OR my husband will try to get sponsored.
The worst part is that this whole ordeal makes me enjoy Canada LESS.
In addition, we now have a daughter who's Canadian, who might never be able to grow up in the country she was born in, which is something I really wanted to give her. Well, maybe she'll grow up in my country, at least we have better food there.
Anyway. I've been having conversations with my husband regarding what I read on this forum every day: his answers, almost right from when we started noticing a very high rate of rejections, was that they opened the stream and now are backpedaling. I think he's actually pretty close to the truth.
They have in no way tried to understand what a PhD is, but still opened a stream for it; I think EVERY PhD should actually apply with the NOC code that corresponds to their field, it makes much more sense, but whatever.
Proof: they told me in my rejection letter that "I CHOSE not to provide reference letters from my "work experience" of Bsc and MSc". Well, guess what? These were NOT work experience, and I had already sent them a letter to that effect A YEAR AGO, as it is after receiving that letter that they granted me PER.
On the form, there is no where to put your studies when you apply for FSW, so I put my "activities during the last 10 years", which were BSc, Msc, etc...under that, and precised that it was full time studies.
And they still mention that this is WORK, although I gave all the documents necessary to show them it was not.
I think they should have a proper form for PhD streamers, where you put activities, and you can precise if it is STUDIES or WORK.
All I can say is that I don't have time to put that much effort, time, and money into this again.
At least I applied for a Post Grad Work Permit; if this one gets rejected, I'll be flying back home; if I get it, hopefully I can put this to rest and just work for the next couple of years and MAYBE reapply when I am less mad at them.
