Congrats, guys I'm happy that some Feb and March applicants finally hear something back from Ottawa. It's been a nerve-wrecking moment for some of us lately (and still is). I think the majority of applicants will hear something from the visa office before 1 year after PER (either medical or document request), so that should give an indication when you should hear back the latest. So if your due date is coming, prepare your bank statement, and make sure it doesn't go lower than the required threshold, guys!!!

In particular, let me re-iterate that the money needs to be yours, you cannot borrow it. So if you brother is willing to give you 12,000 and if you make him swear under the law and penalty of perjury that you DO NOT (SHOULD NOT) need to return the funds back to him, then THEORETICALLY (they may still think that it's too suspicious), it should be accepted. But then again, we don't really know exactly what they have in mind, and how they evaluate things, so apply at your own risk.
Also, all properties but cars and jewelries may be accepted, though I'm not sure exactly how you can get your mortgage evaluated for POF purposes. You may want to look at this more carefully. Remember, borrowing money is NOT the solution, and if your brother is willing to give you the money, tell him that the money will be yours, and you will NOT RETURN these funds back to him.
I heard from some people that you can't have joint account with anybody but your spouse, so joint accounts with parents or brothers will not be accepted. TyrusX posted a link to some forum discussion, which has several good advices on things that can be used for proof of fundsVictory 2013 said:Quick question. CPP Ottawa has requested me the proof of bank statement and last six month of bank activity. I have three option to show my proof of fund. I will prove either one from your kind suggestions.
