Ok Guys...Finally some movement for the late Feb applicants :)...I just received a document request from CIC :)

Another good news is they requested Employment reference letter because the one I sent with my application didi not have no. of hours worked. So after following this wonderful blog started by you wonderful people, I realized that my application can be rejected because work experience is missing total hours worked, so I emailed them another letter in the end of January and there was a mention of that letter received in my CAIPS notes. So, I am glad that they did not reject my application. I am just going to qoute the mail that I received.

" This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following documents:

Ø 4869572 - JVJ:

Ø > Employment Reference Letter: A letter of reference from the University of Calgary specifying the dates and hours worked as a Research Assistant. This must be received at this office by: 04/06/2013

Please note:

All documents must be accompanied by English or French translations. When original documents are requested, notarised documents are not acceptable.

The above information/documents must be received in our office within 30 days from the date of this letter. Please quote your complete application number on your correspondence and address your correspondence to the address indicated below.

Thank you for the interest you have shown in Canada."""

My quick question, besides making sure the new reference letter has no. of hours, are there any other features (like seals, stamps) I need to have on the letter. I mean of course, the rest of the text of the letter remains the same as the before. The letter that I initially sent was from my department manager. Do they prefer one from Graduate studies or my supervisor directly or should i still get it from the department as I did earlier. Tyrus I would really appreciate your input in this matter along with our other members.

Another thing that I find surprising is, they did not ask for PCC, I sent them one in late Jan because they were expiring sometime in Feb. In CAIPS, the status as of feb 28 was - not started. SO, by now they have expired. SO why did they not ask me for PCC at the same time..anyways, who knows how they work.

Thanks :)

So you said you sent an update letter to them and they mentioned in the CAIPS that they received it from you. May you please let me know in which section of your CAIPS they mentioned that? This is very important to me.
I had a similar case as you. I sent update letters but they didn't say a word about them in my refusal letter and they referred to my old letters. I also got my CAIPS but I don't see any word in the CAIPS regarding my update letters. I checked "Incoming section".
In which section of CAIPS they talked about your updated letters.

I'm really frustrated now, because I sent them my updated letters. There is no word in their refusal letter about them. I asked them why? They said we considered them. But now even in my CAIPS there is nothing about my updated letters.

Hi all,

I would like to share my info with all readers in this forum:

Application reached CIO: 31th January 2013
CC cashed: 20th February 2013
PER Issued: 26th February 2013
No. of applicants : 02
Experience: RA + Others
Nationality: Iranian

One thing that is worrying me is the Bank statement. I have provided proof of enough fund with my application but I had a large deposit into my account one month earlier than sending my application to CIO. This money has come from renting my own property in my home country but I have not declared that as income in Canada before. Therefore, I do not know how to show them that the money is mine if they ask me about that. I would appreciate to have your comments and suggestions.

Thanks

This is definitely a good news :) It's good to see how they're asking your for documents rather than just flatly rejecting it. Remember to write the new letter to contain non-contradictory information compared to your January letter. Congratulations :) It does look like that they have at least verified your work experience by the time they send people out document request.
I agree this is a very good news. But poor people like me who got rejected even though I updated my documents. This is very unfair.
They have been so tough so far, and now they're starting to be a little flexible.
So I have not found any sign of my updated letters in my CAIPS. All they said there is again about the old letters.
Though they replied me in the email that they considered the new ones.
If they considered, why there is no evidence of them in my CAIPS?

Hi Hamed,

I am not sure how helpful my response will be but here it is. I hope it helps.

There was nothing mentioned about any documentation received in the "Incoming" section. In my case, it was updated on the last page under the "NOTES" section. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they have consistent format even for the CAIPS.

In you case, it appears that due to some mistake your updated documents were not considered in the first place and later on they were just not willing to accept that they made a mistake. I should consider myself lucky that they did not misplace my documents. And that is the reason I ordered CAIPS a week after sending updated documents, just to make sure they have taken these documents into consideration.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Thanks.

When did you receive your CAIPS? And, may I ask you, if it is not something private, what that note says ?

It generally is half-page text including reasons on why he/she refused my letters. It's written like report for their records. The refusal email was nothing except the same text maybe 1-2 lines shorter but with small changes like "your letters, your etc.".
But basically that text was almost the same lines as their email to me.

Nothing else I found about my letters there.

Seems to me that, your letter never was added to your application. It was probably lost as you mailed it to them. But, why they did say they considered it? Lying, who knows! Of course, there is no reason for them to lie.

Dude, stop victimizing yourself. You, above all, made a mistake on your application. You had the option to send everything correct but you chose not to. They may have or may have not made a mistake on your evaluation. THE THING IS, it doesn't matter, you got rejected and now you have two options, you either hire a lawyer and appeal formally or you send a new application. BEING FRUSTRATED will not help anyone, it will not make your application be magically approved and will not make you happy.

Wow! You have hit the nail on the head, TyrusX. This kind of situation can arise for any of us, no use comparing ourselves with others.
I have applied now for the second time after 2004, earlier application being tossed out after 8 year's wait. We do get new opportunities.

Hi every one,

Unfortunately my application was rejected from Ottawa, after a year in processing! The reason was this "Your letter of reference from XXXX University substantiates your 9 months of full-time work experience as an Assistant Lecturer. However, the duty listed for your experience as a Teaching Assistant does not indicate that you performed the actions in lead statement and a substantial number of the main duties under the NOC code you selected – NOC 4122 Post-Secondary" Teaching and Research Assistants. This work experience does not meet the requirements above".
Although I worked as a Teaching Assistant for 4 years and then as an Assistant lecturer at the same university in my homeland, both jobs have the same duties but with different titles. Any ideas Why did they just count the last one?

Also, If I want to apply again from scratch, can I update the job experience letter to be more specific regarding the duties?
BTW, I've been a TA/RA here for almost 4 years, exactly 11 semesters, do you think I should provide them with this experience, would it be enough by itself? if I decided to apply again!

I'd appreciate your help!

You should re-apply soon by updating your reference letters. Just make sure that you do not contradict what you said in your first letters. When one is rejected, he can not do much, unfortunately. BTW, RA/TA experience (if in total 38 hrs/week or more and at least for one continuos year) is enough. Make sure you include all the wanted information: hours worked, length of employment, duties (they must match those listed under the NOC code), and a little bit of information about your field of work would not hurt.

Hopefully you'll hear something by then.

If you apply for RCMP personally, they'll probably be able to give it to you in probably a more timely manner. Remember that CIC did not ask for fingerprinting and would rely only on your name and date of birth. I heard that if you happen to have the same name as someone with a criminal record, then it would take forever to request RCMP PCC.

Anyway, I'm wondering, in your CAIPS, did you already pass eligibility? And if so, at what date did you pass eligibility? And did you get awarded the same number of points as by CIO?
Yeah, I have passed the eligibility. The date is Nov 2nd. Actually I had not paid attention before, but this is the date the processing of my application has begun based on ECAS status.
I am not awarded the points for studying in Canada for two years and the officer has put a note that they are not considering one of my job letters because it had less details than they desired.

Aidina, there is nothing personal in the notes. I have my self benefited immensely from this forum and so happy to be able to answer queries for others. And even if one person can benefit from this information, then its completely worth it.

Sydney and Ottawa offices have created separate notes under the main "NOTES" section.

Sydney office has basically said that I qualily and that I have not received any scholarship from Govt. of Canada..and that i appear to have minimum work exp required..letter of ref not verified..required language test on file..if awarded and adaptabiliy points, then information not verified and that I appear to have 67 or more points on the selection grid.

Ottawa office has simply listed all the documents that I sent them at the end of Jan along with their expiry date (for the PCC's that I sent)

Thanks

Normally, insurance does not cover the medical expenses requested by a third party, but a friend told me that they will pay for the lab test, so I claimed it and they paid.

How did you do that ?
