Like you mentioned they Quote his file number which it starts with B and / FC1 but nothing for me to indicate it's AOR. I guess they are trying to inform me that I have the choice as point of contact which I knew before.
The funny part when they mentioned it will be processed in Damascus by CANADIAN OFFICERS. Well of course it's going to be by a Canadian officers and not Lebanese?

I was thinking about you and remembered you were asking about the visa if you can pick it up in Beirut.

keep praying!!! it's working... I feel much better today....

You would be surprised Marlena.. I know when Egypt got audited there were EGYPTIANS making interviews and final decisions on PR applicants.. that has changed now so I think they are covering their behinds by making that statement. The fact that you have a file number B is a good sign that they are working on your app and you really need not worry about an AOR. That is good news that you are being processed.

Thank you Boncuk. Hope you and Rasha hear some good news as well. I'm sure your file must be there but it take a while to be updated in their system. Perhpas by the end of next week.
I was also thinking they perhaps using another way of dealing with the applications. Review the file first and than do the updates in e-cas so that way if they need any additional documents they will issue a letter once and for all. Hopefully the file is not sitting on someone's and just adding more files on the top.

I'm not sure exactly how the system works for ecas. I guess they have a general database and that database gets sent to Canada for processing than it gets updated online. I dont see each embassy plugging in the updates themselves.. who knows maybe someone could answer that.

The offices update CAIPS which feeds Ecas.

Ok I understand but as soon as ones CAIPS gets updated does it automatically get transferred to Canada or do they do a weekly update to ECAS .. I guess what I'm asking is how automated is it.. They input say.. medicals received and bring forward such and such date .. then this information goes automatically to ECAS ? Just curious how it works.. :)
Also by chance do you know how things get transferred to visa offices? By diplomatic mail, courier or by a diplomat (person) we had this discussion in another thread and someone was told while calling the CIC Call centre that its an actual PERSON who brings over the applications.. that seemed very strange to me!

Hello Marlena and Boncuk,
Marlena I am happy that you got your husband B number witch is a very good news.
Boncuk, to answer your question about how the file is transferred to the local office, I asked my husband, he told me that my file was among other file that a PERSON, a diplomatic person of course, bring it to Damascus. I thought he was making a joke, Cause in my logic it has to be transferred in secure mail , or private mail for the consult...but it is actually a Person who take it with him.
Of course each month there are several people traveling...but still it is not logic.
Marlena, I guess, not sure , that the embassy in Beirut will deal with inquiry, question, document, passport stamping but not like Damascus, processing a file and making a decision, not sure.

Hi Rorita,

If Damascus processing the file and let say my husband is required for an interview. Damascus must send the same OIC to conduct the interview! right. It doesn't make any sense to ask an OIC from Beirut visa office to conduct the interview on their behalf when he didn't study the file.
What I'm trying to say wouldn't be easier for them when they see the address of the applicant to determine the point of contact before processing the PR. In my case they should transferred the file since they know he lives in Beirut.
Also for the purpose of Resources Cost I think it's more logical to process it in Beirut in case if interview is requested.
Do u agree!!!

Hey Boncuk. It's not fair for you and Rasha to wait all that time because someone is sitting on the file or sitting and collecting more dust. The time is taken from our lives and our love one. What a way to GO. We should go and complain to the broadcast to let them know there is a problem in the way they handle applications from one country to another. Perhaps that will shake them a bit.

yes I thought there would be some standard between offices.. I can understand one being busier than the next , but if one office gets an AOR all should.. and whats the big deal to send a notice that they received it and will process it.. that it is in queue that's all I'm asking for.. the fact that our applications are in "limbo" is just frustrating..

I agree Marlena..but after reading the I/O Manual - maybe the MP making an inquiry is a good way to do the shake. As the I/O has to respond to an MP request within 5 days.....

I think the email I received stating that they did not receive the file is firm proof of a valid reason to employ my MP to inquire on my file - that's it has been almost two months in 'limbo' and appears lost, n'est ce pas? :)

Hey Marlena, Rasha, Boncuk...
I got my new computer...so no more internet coffee shop and loud music.
Marlena, I guess you are right about that they had to send your husband application to Beirut, since he live in Lebanon, but, like I told you, not sure but I guess beirut office is different from Damscus Office, as I have understand from their site, they don't process application like damscus, they answer inquiry, get extra document, interview...check the beirut office site, but that what I have understand, even that it don't make sence, like you said, if there is an interview, the officer working on your husband application must do the interview....I really don't know.
Rasha, I am sorry that you still don't have an AOR. About talking to the MP, I don't know, but from post here, they say that the MP don't do anything untill your application has jumped over the normal processing time, but no harm in asking him. What make me made is why they answer on the MP in one week and don't answer on our several email????
I have a question: have you ever heard that anyone were able to make the immigration make a fast desicion on his application (if his application is in file desicion level of course) for any reason? Because there are rumor in Lebanon that a new war will happen soon, my husband has asked our laweyer to send an email to damscus requesting in a polite way to make up their desicion fast, because he is scared on my personal security and that he won't be able to come to lebanon to be with me if there is a war, (since they close the airport first thing when there is a war in Lebanon). I was wondering if they will even care about my personal security...

Hey Rorita.. good to see you have your computer!
As for chance of war.. I think it is a good idea to ask the lawyer to write a polite email to expedite your process.. You have humanitarian and compassionate issues there. I would hope they care for your security as a potential PR :) Inshallah they will give you a decision soon. You are in my prayers.
As for the MP, I've heard so many stories.. some saying it's good to ask, others saying it angers the visa office causing more delays, some say it did nothing. I guess we all have to see in our own circumstances if it might be worth it. I can totally understand Rasha as we both havent heard anything from Cairo and the fact that she received an email from them saying they haven't received her application yet is frustrating and worrisome! We pray all is well that our apps will get there or they have it even collecting dust lol but what if they really didnt receive it.. what IF (god forbid) it's lost! I'm going to wait a week and see what's in store for us. By the end of this coming week it will be 60 days for us.. God give us all strength!
