Hey Boncuk, reading on this forum from the comfort of my room is better than the internet coffee shop.
That is what we did, the lawyer sent a polite email to Damascus saying that his Canadian client (my husband) is worried on my security due to the rumor and all what is going on now in Lebanon, it is like a bomb ready to make a big booom. He sent this email in the beginning of May after we sent them the required document.
We are planning to send another one next week.
Concerning that they have to treat me as a future PR and evacuate me with the Canadian citizen in Lebanon, if there is a war...well I highly don’t think so...because to see things from there point of view, there is no decision on my case, so I don't think they will evacuate me, and if they did, how can I enter Canada without visa??
Concerning the MP, our lawyer said that he is going to meet Windsor MP soon and he will tell him about our case, but from post here, they say the MP don't do anything until the file has proceed the normal time, in my case he has processed the normal time by lottttttttttt , but not like they are processing it in Damascus since the beginning, they have started processing the file in Feb 12-2009.
I gotten sick of all this, I haven't seen my husband since jan-2009, and with all what is happening in Lebanon, I have a very gloomy view in front of me these days..

Rorita.. I think maybe with some persistence they will say halas give this girl her PR.. she waited long enough!! :)) Do you know what stage they are on now.. did your lawyer request CAIPS? I hope nothing happens in Leb.. god knows there has been enough these past years.. You are in my prayers .. I really hope that you get this all resolved soon. Well about the PR, I didnt mean they would evacuate you but perhaps putting a rush on things for potential PR's would be nice.
On another note.. I'm thinking I wont check ecas at all this week.. what do you think?! lol maybe something will come when I'm not checking lol like when they say love comes when you are not looking.. so maybe ecas comes when you are not looking ! :p

Ya rab zoster!! Libnan does note need anotehr war! The people have had enough... I honestly thought it was goign to happen when they took forever to secur a presedient before [and there were minor scirmishes and some bombs.. and that big general wsa killed] :( Anyway - we can pray that isn't so!!!

If God forbid it happens, I hope rorita that you are done and outta there!! I think the Beirut office is more accomodating because they are NEW. give them some time, and it will be the same as the others [no offence - but the ppl there are not jaded yet].

Good luck to everyone - let's hear some good new today [And may Al Aly win!!!!!!(today's match)] :)

Hello there, how is everyone...
Boncuk, concerning my application, it is under review now, that is what they have told us in their last email in May 13 when they reply on my lawyer email to expedite my application because my husband is scared on my security. About CAIPs, I got them April 16, saying Marriage genuine, interview waived,
My days are so long now, I check e-cas several time per day ,witch is stupid I now, but it is out of my hand..:(, this period now seems like a century, it is even slower than all the 10 month I have been here in Lebanon, and what is making it more longer, it the situation in lebanon..it sucks..
Marlena, I am sorry, I didn't want to scare you, I know what you are suffering, but there is lot going on now in Lebanon, actually, in Lebanon we are always scared from something, I mean we never live in peace of mind, always there is something going on. These day till the end of this month, we have the election, where all the candidate had turned into uncivilized people, everyone treats everyone, by uncovering their past...and what make it a joke, no one of them has a clean past. People are talking about blast here and there for specific people, so they can stop the election or change the way things are, people are talking about war with another country....hearing the news these days are making the Lebanese vomit...
So I keep thinking what will happen next, if there is a war, blast, assassination...it sucks.
Marlena, I guess you husband is doing the same that I was doing, I didn't even mention to my husband what is going on in Lebanon, he doesn't need the extra stress, but nothing can be hide, my husband and my parent in law hear the Lebanese news in USA, so I can't hide it anymore.
I hope and pray nothing will happen, but I guess my nerve are so tired, if I hear a door closing, I jump in my place.
Rasha you made me laugh...after all I guess we are the only country that lived about little less than a year without a president, and then without a government...each one was the leader of itself..:)))). Go democracy.
Rasha , Where you able to get an answer about your application?

I don't want to hear any bad news for today. It's a bad Monday to start with and I just have faith everything will be OK. No war no nothing.... everyone in Ottawa is heading to Lebanon this summer. NOT even one Lebanese still in town except me :0( only because my work didn't agree that I can take 6 weeks vacation without pay during the summer but I fought for SEPTEMBER since everyone is back from their vacation. I don't want to know something might go wrong before I go otherwise I'll have to blame my work :0(!!!

Boujasim, I am really scared these days, hearing the news is giving me nervous breakdown...everyone is scared, but no one knows what, war, blast, darba soukhnat..:)...don't remind me of july2006, I lost 7 kilos (by the way I am 50 kilos usually, so you can imagine my bad situation back then)...it was heal
Well, what we did, the lawyer sent an email to Damascus asking in a polite way to expedite my application, witch has must reach the decision level, because of the security treat in Lebanon, we sent it May 12.
this week, the lawyer will send another email as well asking the same, did you know, some embassy has started to send sms to their citizen, to be careful and telling them that the embassy is ready to evacuate them if there is a war...God I will die if there is a war...
Well about giving my visa because there is a war...that make sense, I don't know. but if they will issue me a visa, and there is a war, I will go for sure to the embassy, even if I die on my way back, at least I will die happy holding my PR....:))))
Marlena, I am really really sorry that we are making you scared, but guess what we are totally scared, I don't know what to think anymore. Can you imagine, my head keep working even while I am sleeping...God I really need a vacation, away from my laptop, parent, friend, everyone...
What you mean everyone in Ottawa is heading to Lebanon, are they coming to elect in the election or for vacation? Because they are paying money and ticket for lot of Lebanese outside Lebanon to come and elect.

Yes, I got married in Lebanon.
And, yes I am on my husband noufouuse, concerning the time, it were to be a piece of cake , but the problem we faced is that my mom name on ikhraj kaid is written in a different way from the one in noufousse, and we had the most stupid employee to fix it,in fact he corected TWICE but in a wrong way, can you believe... but without that kind of stupidity, it is very easy,
We took wathikat al zawaj given to us from the church, took it to the moukhtar of the region where our wedding took place, made wathikat zawaj, we stamped in the moutraniat, with some money, the moukhtar finalized in dawayir nouffousse and my old noufousse, we tooke it from him to the moukhtar of the region where my husband is , he register the marriage there, moved me to noufousse my husband, new civil status, new family book for me and my husband. so it must take no more than 2 days in normal case...:)

what you mean: warakat tissbout shou dinak, ??? don't you an ID or ikhraj kaid? and on the wathikat zawaj you have, they should mention your religion and from where you are as well your wife religion and from where she is. What did you give the person who married you as ID.
About wathikat wilada for your wife, that must be easy, cause she should have it, cause I have understand that in canada and USA, they get birth certificate as ID until they have a driver lisence.
Sorry from the other we are using arabic word here, because it is hard to tranaslate..but don't worry , these arabic word work only in our lovely country..:)))

Now I'm getting concerned if they didn't register Boujasim marriage, would I have the same problem if it was only a civil marriage or it doesn't matter. My husband won't be able to register me as his wife in Lebanon because we are not yet married in the church. Hopefully that wouldn't raise any question!!!!

Marlena, I don't know what to tell you. The civil marriage in Lebanon has lot of contradiction. I hear people saying that they got a civil marriage in Cyprus, and returned Lebanon and register there marriage, but where exactly don't know. I guess Lebanon admits the civil marriage, but there is no civil marriage performed in Lebanon..Odd right..:)))
But the immigration should know the rules in Lebanon concerning this issue; they should not make it a problem for you
