Guys I realised something and would ask for your advise;

I am residing in Qatar since 19/05/2013 and the PCC I have obtained from the authorities refer to the dates between the commencement of my residency and the date I've got the PCC (29/12/2016)

Question is I have short periods of visits in 2012; should the PCC have covered these periods too?
I think so, but I think the most important bit is the end date if you're still living there. After all, if you had done something that would have gone into your criminal record before 2016 it will probably show up on the PCC, no?

I suppose if it's possible to get on for all you time there the you could submit via CSE, but I myself wouldn't worry about it... I should think that if they require and extended PCC they will request a new one.

You may like to ask this question on the post ITA thread.

Hello Folks,

Thank you all for your responses.

I have a question regarding my spouse study in canada.

Currently I am on Spouse Dependent Work Permit and I got invitation received from express entry on Dec 22 under CEC
I already submitted the PR application to CIC.

***QUESTION REGARDING WHETHER SHE HAS TO STUDY NOW OR WAIT UNTIL WE GET PR AND CONTINUE HER STUDY**

My Spouse is on Student Visa (Currently staying in canada) and If she joins school now the tuition fee cost $8000 per semester(as she is an international student presently)
Once we get PR the same course fee will reduce to half of the amount.

What would be the best option whether to continue the first semester as international student or shall we wait untill we get our PR and continue her studies.

Anticipating for your repsonses.

Thanks you
RJ
This a a personal choice you should make. In your shoes I would probably carry on studying and get that first semester done at higher cost because I think it's important to finish your studies as soon as possible so that you can ge on with a productive professional life asap... but this will cost you more money so you must weight this out.

There is also the fact that you were given a study visa to study and not to wait around for a PR... if you PR is delayed or worse and you have decided to wait you may not be able to finish your studies what happens then? Do you renew your study visa? Will they allow that given that you were not studying?

Well, my spouse had an oval opacity on left collar bone.(strange thing to notice on a healthy bloke's chest!!)...and we recieved additional medical information request yesterday. (additional x-rays!!)...we filed our eAPR on 12 Jan.. Hope this won't be a problem--but one thing is certain, this will delay the process for which we need to be prepared, i guess.

I am tempted to think that had there been no issues with medicals, we would have passed the medicals right? so are they are pretty quick at evaluating medical tests?..what has been your observation so far?
I don't think this will delay your process as the Medicals are done by another group of people in parallel. Just make sure you do the extra tests as soon as possible to get the medicals approved as soon as you can.

We got our AOR on the 7th and no extra tests have been asked so I'm tempted to think our medicals (originally done over a month ago) are OK but my status is unchanged since AOR...

Thanks for your insight; I thought the same as logically criminal records are kept using all information available i.e. fingerprints, passport information etc. and any criminal record would surface regardless of when the period starts, hence the end date should matter the most.

I've just searched the forum and my concern is that there are mixed reactions from IRCC to similar cases as in one instance application was rejected and other couple of cases either the application reached PPR or asked for revised PCC.

I think it's best to be preemptive and try to get a new PCC with revised dates tomorrow.

I hope the authorities would be understanding and help me with it otherwise will be a nervous wait for me.

Well if you're worried about this then get that extended PCC ASAP and submit it (via CSE)... If the authorities will not issue you a PCC for the extended period of time try to get that in writing and submit that with another LoE explaining that you tried and were unable to get an extended PCC.

I think rejections occur at the beginning, once you're through the R10 test and it gets to the criminal checks later on, if the officer wants an extended PCC he will ask for it... I'd like to think that rejection for missing/inconsistent documents are far less likely later on in the process, but it's impossible to predict IRCC's reaction...

That's expected... FSW move a little quicker through the initial part of the process as there is less checking to be done for them. Less documents (so R10 is quicker).

CEC usually have a bit more documents (T4 tax forms, etc.) and PNP have extra checks too...

Later on in the process outland applicants (most FSW) tend to go to their LVO which can vary quite a bit... In São Paulo the VO is notorious slow and inefficient so we can expect a few months extra processing time. Last year there were cases of people who only got PPR's with 1 month to land (yes 11 months processing). However, New Delhi in India is apparently very efficient and process people very quickly... No idea about China, but I should imagine they're probably quite efficient too.

Legend has it that some later PNP checks are more relaxed because the province has already done previous background checks on the reference letters, PoF, etc... But I've not seen much evidence of that on the trackers.

In the November thread, people who got AoRs in Nov 1st week are already getting PPRs, speeding up the process to 3-4 months now? I took out all my non Canadian work experience just to speed up the process, but hopefully it is start of new trend.

I mean they are taking in 3000 people every week, if they keep at the same pace, the backlog will be insane

I was looking at the November and December threads for any CEC applicants to have a rough idea about the timeline. It seems like early November it will take 3 weeks to pass the medicals for CEC applicants. You can then see that turn into 4 weeks in the November thread, but none of the CEC applicants who got their AOR in December reported passing their medicals yet.

There's not enough CEC applicants to absolutely be certain about when we should expect our medicals to pass, but it seems like it'll be much longer than a month for us January CEC applicants. :'(

There should be a better way of tracking our applications than just wondering what the status means ::)

When and how do we get a UCI?
I already have a UCI number for my previous visit to Canada. Will this make a difference to my application?
