We are in month 19 of application, 14 of those in security check. When we applied timeline was 12 months processing. I know that IRCC has moved the goalpost to try to lessen the amount of Writs of Mandamus filed, but one has to prepare. There is some pre-exisiting duty is there not?
..

Did you gate any updated guy. I am weiting like you sane situation anny update?

I hear it can be some time. IRCC wipes their hands clean of cases and says "it is out of their control", and there is no way to reach any of the departments that work in conjunction with the IRCC to get news. I am STILL waiting for GCMS notes ordered in June. The last update I had on my file was that it took IRCC 8 months to ask for an update from security partners (this was in March). We are now at 22 months in process, 17 of those in security check.
Anny update me to same situation like you

You keep on not answering whether you are protected person or not. That is an incredibly important piece of information. Are you a PR already? A citizen? Many don’t realize that their case is not actually a spousal sponsorship situation according to IRCC.

I just got my gcms note and the security check never been touched since 2023 September.
I applied on August 2023.
I ordered my gcms note in begging September, and the security check is saying "not started" And the last note on it if from end September.
Bit the thing is on October 4th I received an update on my gckey that the background check is now being processed.
Do you think that shows that they've started processing the security check?

Still waiting for one background check to be completed meaning IRCC tracker has not moved one inch in six months which is complete BS.
Uploaded a request for GMCS notes from CBSA yesterday to perhaps shed some light on why the lengthy delay but not expecting much insight.
No idea why our file is labelled as non-routine either, but I expect this doesn't help matters much.

The gcms note will let you know more about your file and the reason why it delays

There are couple of standard answers sent out by IRCC, and unfortunately many of us, including myself, have re-used it here while trying to give reason to others. Here are few:

1- We are working as quickly as possible to process your application - be patient - The longer you are waiting, the more closer your application is towards the end of the process---------> This is the usual response by IRCC when your application is within timelines.

2- No two applications are identical and hence, you should not compare the timelines with other applicants ----- This is the usual response when you try to ask IRCC, why the F...you are not working on my application, while cranking out visa for applications submitted 12 months ahead of yours.

3- Your application is Non-Routine, because it passed the suggested timeline of 10 months --- >This is when your application has passed the CIC promoted timelines. Instead of informing what made one's application Non-Routine, its labelled Non-Routine only because it passed the timeline. They wont answer the real question - Was it the delay caused by CBSA in conduction background check, was the Case officer absent for months, or were there some software or system updates going on within IRCC that caused the delay.....or was it due to some mistake applicant did - or some situation of the applicant. ...NO....they wont give that detail. What the F...an applicant is supposed to do with that info? Non-Routine?? Just jump off the Rockies?? Noooo....Your application is Non-Routine - and now you can't do anything about it.

The longer the Sponsors stay quiet - and do not raise this autocratic - 'dont question me or i will delay your application more' attitude of IRCC Officers, the longer we and our loved ones will suffer. Imagine a staff in Tim Hortons near the CIC office, asks the CIC officer to come out of line and stand beside the door and keep waiting. After 5 minutes of waiting, as soon as the CIC officers blurts a word, Tim Hortons staff says.....A...A...Shhhh....You are a Non-Routine Customer...Just wait...The longer you keep quiet, the quicker I will get you in line...Exactly....that's what CIC Officers are doing to some of us - and we need to raise this issue collectively.

I agree with you but how are we going to raise this issue collectively. We need a big voice that will help us
