Anyone applied a Student Permit from Philippines?

It was not fast at all po. It took me 11 weeks and a day before the passport request. Mine exceeded the normal processing time of 10 weeks in the country.

How did u file your app? Online ba or thru VFS?

I am in Canada on a Student Visa, Husband on OWP and 7yr old daughter on TRV. The school never asked for her study permit.

Hi, can u share how u applied? Sabay sabay ba kayo ng husband and anak mo?
Kasi same case tayo. Magaapply ako as student, then my husband for OWP tapos TRV ung son ko.
Kung online kasi, hiwa-hiwalay ang appli namin. So hindi sabay sabay ang decision.

I did po kasi nasa list po xa ng dapat i.upload na docs when I completed my online application. And dahil as students siguro, we are going to be temporary residents din and okay lang kasi wala namang dagdag na babayaran basta ng apply ka for study permit. And the passport request is for TRV po kaya hinihingi nila for stamping..

I'm trying to decide kung aling school ang aapplyan ko. Gusto ko sana yung 1 year lang para mas practical, kaya lang iniisip ko, 1 year lang din yung PGWP nun kaya gaya ng sabi ng iba, mahirap daw kunin yung minimum number of hours para magiging eligible sa CEC sa loob ng isang taon lang. Pero, sa nabasa ko sa CIC, may 90 days allotted time to apply for PGWP after graduation.

Ngayon, yung school na aapplyan ko sana ay nagbibigay ng volunteer opportunities sa students nila after graduation. Ang tanong ko po ay pwede bang mag volunteer work habang naghihintay sa PGWP?

nung una nalito din ako...pero i read the guide 5269 and it says nga there. saka nasa optional kaya napaisip din ako why ns optional kung required cya. hehehe.

Hi, anong docs ang sinubmit mo sa VFS? Turns out mas madami silang docs na hinihingi kaysa sa nasa cic website. Tapos nagsubmit ka din ba ng bank statements? Plan ko kasi bank certs lang.

Hi, AAM1218, here's the list I posted on the other thread. And yes, I submitted 6 months bank statements din, yan yata ang required.

CIC Forms
IMM1924 - Application for Study Permit - downloaded form, filled it out, then validated it. Once validated, it will generate a barcode page. Print all 5 pages then put the barcode page at the top of your application.
IMM5257 - Application for Temporary Resident Visa - downloaded form, filled it out, validated it before printing
IMM5483 - Document Checklist for a Study Permit - downloaded form, printed. Checked off the boxes using pen.
IMM5645 - Family Information - downloaded form, filled it out, printed.
Manager's check for visa application fee - PhP 5,760 for VFS application (official amount is CAD150)

Personal Documents
Current, valid passport - Validity must cover the length of your program
Photocopy of old passport with foreign visa, stamps from travel to other countries
2 pcs ID picture based on specifications from the Canadian Embassy (download photo specs from CIC website)
Birth certificate - original copy
NBI Clearance - must be taken at the longest 3 months before your application date. If you have an NBI Clearance dated more than 4 months before your application date, they will not accept it. Purpose must state "VISA CANADA"
High School Diploma - certified true copy
High School Transcript of Records - certified true copy
College Diploma - certified true copy
College Transcript of Records - original copy (kay I have many copies man, but you can opt to have it certified)
Certificate of Graduation from University - certified true copy
IELTS Result - certified true copy
Certificates of employment from all the companies I worked for - one company closed down so I couldn't get a CoE, I just submitted samples of my published work
Six months payslip from current company
Employment contract from current company
2014 ITR from current company
Short resume

Academic Documents / Financial Support
Letter of Acceptance from Centennial College
Official Receipt of Tuition Payment from School
Correspondence from School Representative (optional only)
Letter and affidavit of support from parents - notarized

yep, saka pressured maghanap agad ng trabaho after graduation kasi kailangan ng 1 year's experience before you can apply for PR under CEC in most provinces.
