Congrats po
Pwede nyo po bang maishare yung profile niyo and yung mga pinass nyong documents?
I am a typical example of someone who submitted the minimum requirements. I submitted with my online application the following documents:
1) IMM 1294 (Application for Study Permit Made Outside Canada)
2) IMM 5645 (Family Information)
3) Proof of Means of Financial Support - I submitted my only proof, that is, a letter of financial support from a research center in Canada indicating my annual stipend. No bank statements and proof of businesses or properties added since I dont have any. Promise. By the way I submitted my application prior to finding this forum so I was not warned to make a strong profile. That was why, I was close to believing that I will not get a visa.
4) Letter of Acceptance - University of Saskatchewan. What I submitted was for January intake. I thought I will be asked of a new/deferred LoA for May intake. But I was not.
5) Request for Medical Exam Form
6) Photocopy of my Passport - my first. Very clean since I have not travelled outside the country.
7) Digital Photo - one jpeg file only.
Optional:
1) Schedule 1 (Application for Temporary Resident Visa)
2) Letter of Explanation - 2 pages all in all. On the first page I stated my purpose for applying. I was offered a graduate research assistantship in Canada and how I look up into it as an opportunity to finally get a master's degree in my field especially since I am a college instructor in my field and I don't have a single unit taken for a master’s degree yet. In the final paragraph I mentioned that being a state univ instructor for three years (I am 26 years old) has not made me financially rich but many people are supporting me especially in the early part of my endeavor. I admitted this one since obviously, I don't have strong proof of financial support. Second page is a separate letter addressed informally like using "To whom it may concern:"
I stated their my research interests and goals in undertaking graduate studies. This same paper I submitted when I applied for admission in the U of Saskatchewan.
Submitted upon request by CEM - NBI Clearance with purpose "SCHOOL VISA"
That was all po. Maybe weak po ang profile ko. This however stands proof na hindi lang sa dami ng pera na maipapakita making sure we will not work illegally while studying na pwede tayong ma.grant ng visa. In my case, siguro it's because they saw in me a genuine student. Dahil totoo po 'yon. Quality MS po talaga ang primary purpose ko for coming to Canada. Medyo rare po kasi sa bansa and profession ko. BS in Agricultural Engineering. I work in Cebu and the closest school for an MS here in the country is UPLB and I cant study and work at the same time with that distance. But since I am leaving a job here in the Philippines na stable na kahit papano since permanent gov't. employee na ako, so I might consider finding a better opportunity in Canada when I graduate. But as of now, study muna.
I hope this helps and gives hope. However, it will not harm if those who are planning to apply are making a stronger profile. Salamat po sa mga pagbati.
