Hi everyone, good to see few ppl from the DR are active.

I just received the first email after I sent my app, giving me my ucl number and saying they have received the app. So I have a question, in case there was any docs missing will I still receive another email or letter saying that any doc is missing? Or they should have said that in that email? In case there's something missing will I now through email or letter? Does anybody knows about this?

Thank you, also thank you for sharing your experience it really helps for the nerves
If they require anything they will let u know, most likely by email, however there is a small chance they could send u a letter by post.

If 4-6 months pass and u havent heard anything u can always order your GMCS notes and see what has been written on your file. This will have any notes t he visa officers reviewing your file have written and there u can see if the recommend and interview or need more documents. I don't have experienxe wjth this since my husband's application was approved so quickly but it is very common for people to do.

How long did you have to wait to receive this email after you sent your application? My application was sent recently so I'm curious.

On the website it says they are currently working on applications received February 4, around 62 days.

I submitted my application in December and got that first email in March, but the processing times are slowly becoming quicker.

When did you submit yours?

I've got a long way to go then lol, I submitted my application last week. Sometimes I see "AOR", and I didn't know if that was something CIC sent out before the sponsor approval.

LexDR I will keep ya posted as to when I hear anything. Our application arrived at CIC headquaters on March 17th, 2015 so I'm just a few weeks ahead of ya. This way you might have a better idea of what to expect next and so on. The waiting is killing me. I counted 62 days from our submission date which puts us to May 18th (a holiday of course). Hopefully we hear something sooner. I feel like our lives are on hold.

The processing times on CIC's website for Sponsorship Approval (Step 1) are usually pretty accurate. When we sent our application to CIC Mississauga last June, we waited 58 days to receive SA and the website at the time said 57. However, back then they didn't send out an AOR so I had NO IDEA what was happening with my application or if they had even received it at all until I received the official SA approval e-mail on day 58! The wait was AWFUL and being the super-anxious person that I am, I was sure there would be some problem! But I got through it and so will you guys- just stay busy- and the approval e-mails will come! I know it's easier said than done, but it honestly helps if you can distract yourself as much as possible. Before you know it, your files will be sent to SD for the next Step!! Any questions, let me know as I've been through the process and understand exactly what you're going through.

Stay strong!! :)

I got AOR about 10 days before receiving sponsor approval. So if sponsor approval is about 60 days, don't expect to hear anything before the 50 day mark. Not to mention, not everyone gets AOR. I got it both from Mississauga and Santo Domingo, but not everyone does.

I got SA in 57 days and file transfer a week later. But so far I have heard nothing from CIC, (ecas still says App received), but neither has anybody in October, except for a handful. it's going on 6 months so I'm a bit nervous, but the fact that all October applicants are in the same boat puts me at ease a bit! Staying busy is what keeps me going for real. That and I refuse to check E-cas more than once a week. I usually check on Friday evenings, it keeps me sane.

Did the SD visa office send your hubby an AOR once the file got there? My husband received that email and I immediately felt better just knowing that it was there in SD. If your file was transferred to DR in December, hopefully any day now they will contact you!!! And all of the waiting and anxiety will immediately become a thing of the past in a matter of seconds!

Yes he got AOR in December, but other than that nothing from CIC. Very nerve-racking.

So now I'm a little bit confused, can you please tell me what's an AOR? It took them 50 days to give me response website say they are still working on application of February 4 but mine was received there on February 21.

AOR is Acknowledgement of Receipt which is an e-mail (or in some cases a mailed letter) that CIC sends out confirming they've received your application, so that's probably what you received! The next correspondence you receive from them would be the Sponsorship Approval notification, provided everything is in order. .

Some people receive an AOR and some don't! I don't know what CIC's logic is in terms of who gets one and who doesn't.

62 days is referring to the processing time (i.e. the approximate time it takes for them to approve you as a sponsor). They can send the AOR anytime after they receive your application...I didn't even get an AOR when I sent our application. The first correspondence we got was the Sponsorship Approval via e-mail.

Thank you misseliza so, os it's after you received the next email that they send it to SD, do you know how long it usually takes after they send the first email, and the Sponsorship Approval?
