They sent my file on August 2 nd but they start processing on August 17 th

ok exactly one week difference in start of process maybe because we applied may 31st and you did June 7th. Have you ever got GCMS notes? Please check who has commented on your file?

I have never ordered them, I believe it doesn't make any difference, they don't tell you how long more, I'm too tired to run after them, I am going to wait the wait. So draining

Sara Joon order GSMC notes, because if you will decide to meet with your local MP. He will ask for it. And my advice you should schedule appointment with your MP office, they can call Ankara and give you some updates.
In my notes recently I discovered that immigration officer made a comment that they requested Supplementary Travel form from my husband. They actually did in the interview letter, but never requested after the interview. So, i did fax and email the form to them. I am not sure if that's the problem, but i am trying my hardest.

They asked us for that travel form (IMM5562) too on Sep 8th and the form is not part of the application package! I saw on the forum couple of other people mentioned they were asked by Ankara VO to send that form as well. Traditionally that form was used in Paris as part of Paris VO specific forms but it seems now Ankara is asking for it too. And they never updated it on the application package forms. We filled the travel info in the 3911e form which is visa specific form for Ankara as part of the original package. But I don't know why they didn't mention IMM5562 from the beginning

I don't understand how you can be this much patient, it is good and I wish I could be like you. Ordering GCMS note is the first step and is helping. For my own PR I ordered notes and then I talked to MP and MP called Buffalo office and I got PR a month after MP contacted. And when he contacted he told me PR is on the way. The file may be stuck for any reason other than security and MP can help with other issues. Also one of my friend's cases was on hold for three years I asked her to order the notes and go to MP and she got her PR in couple of months.

Now in the new application package which is in effect since Dec 2016 you have to select the country to see what forms you need to fill and it clearly says to provide IMM5562 (for travel) and IMM5546 (for military) for Iran specific forms. We still haven't filled/sent IMM5546 and I don't think it is necessary.

It seems we were the transition generation between the old, time consuming systtem and new fast processing system which came into existence since Dec 2016. I hope they don't ignore our applications more and they treat us fairly.

Oh yes, you're right. They probably were going through a transition and started asking applicants for this addition form before the official announcement of the new package.

Did you ever order GCMS notes? And what's your country of origin if you don't mind me asking?

Officer who interviewed my husband said the same and that he should wait for the passport request. But it's been 3.5 months and no news yet. I'm going to my lawyer next week or MP to try and find out whether security been completed or not...

Welcome to the gang, I am surprised that you had an interview, they didn't ask us for interview, my husband is in Iran and I'm the sponsor, it's crazy that we are all waiting and we are all around the same time, so if they told you the background check is 1 month , why are we all waiting for 10 months now? What's holding them? I am hopeful and in a same time full of stress, but am trying hard to maintain my positive attitude towards this waiting time, let's see what happens next time , we all may get some news in a same time

There is a supplementary information form in the application guide 3911e for family sponsorship (Part3- country specific instruction). In this guide, there is different sections for different countries. So we checked Iran section and saw that this supplementary information form is required. It has 4 pages and includes tables to fill in travel history, military experience, government organization, etc. Although it is mentioned in the document checklist, it is very easy to miss! Good practice to include it in one package for new applicants.
