Can anyone help me plz:

1) Should Sponsor fill the form 5406 too?
at the top, it's written: The principal applicant, their spouse or common-law partner (if applicable), and all dependent children 18 years of age or older must complete their own copy of this form.

2)Finally, do we need Co-Signer or not?
My sponsor, is studying and because she has needed the OSAP loan, she has said to government that she has no income and she has left her job and she is not working anymore!

best regards

Hi Erfan228,

1) no. As far as I'm aware only the principle applicant fills out this form for spousal sponsorship. This form deals with additional family members for information purposes for immigration and in the event you would want to ever sponsor these family members in the future under the Family Sponsorship Class. This is a generic form across immigration classes (skilled worker, provincial nominee, etc.) If you AND your sponsor were coming to Canada together (and neither of you were Canada or PR holders) under a different type of immigration then you would both fill this form out. If your sponsor is in Canada and all her family is in Canada (or are Canadian, or have no plans to going to Canada) then the sponsor does not fill this out.

2) Again, as far as I know the sponsor does not need to make any income to be able to sponsor her spouse (spouse only, if there are dependents than that is a different story). She does need to show she is not receiving government benefits (other than disability) or is not going through bankruptcy (the Quebec scheme is different though, I can't speak to that). HOWEVER, from what I gather and have read on this form student loans (university funding loans) are not considered government benefits (social assistance/welfare). Please check this out with some one else though as I am not an expert. I would also suggest both of you write a personal statement saying how you intend to support yourselves while you're in Canada if she is not making any salary and chances are you may not be able to get a job on day 1 of arriving.

I hope this is helpful, perhaps some one else can give you more insight.

same problem for me ... it's strange how its blank, if they're doing maintenance or upgrade they should have a note written somewhere on it.

You guys think they updating statuses? :P

I have the same problem, the page is totally blank :o

Looks like Ecas is still down this morning. On the Citizenship & Immigration Canada twitter page they have said: ONLINE SERVICE HELP: January 25, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm EST - Our online services will be unavailable. Maybe it's taking longer to fix.

Well it's a new week in Ankara, here's hoping for some good news for all of us! :)

Does anyone know, which parts of form "3911e" must be completed?
It's 32 pages!

Should the pages which is dedicated for residency - Islamabad and Abu-dhabi be completed too? what about Education Background/Work Experience Questionnaire?

It's so confusing...

By the way, I promise and I bet that the next 15 days is that end for Mrs Asag, Soomazi! :-) I'm Nostra Damus...
