Don't despair, I even checked my husband's file and still says in process, soooo don't rely on the cic website for updates.

Did he get his visa?!??!?!!?!?!?!?!

I am so happy everything went smoothly for you! Even with an interview :)

I spoke to my lawyer and he said the reason my husband's application is taking so long is because he lives in Canada... BOO!

So he also said that if my husband doesn't get his visa by the time I am in Turkey (because we emailed the VO to tell them he was there) that I should go to the embassy and inquire!!! I hope we don't have to do that BUT I WANT MY HUSBAND TO COME HOME WITH ME :( So at this point I will do just about anything...

Mrs.Asag

Is your husband in Canada by Temporary Resident Visa or student visa? and may I ask when does his visa expire?
I am in a same boat sort of!
Thanks,

Thanks,

TRV since 2010 (visa expired, work permit still valid) so now that he is in Turkey he cannot come back. He could stay while his application was in process because his application was in process.

When does your husband's expire? Is he TRV or student?

Oh I c

he is student and the Permit expires end of March! We were hoping that we would get something by then. Anyhow, we may try TVR when that expires. But now I am not sure, it would be faster if he goes back or ask for TVR.

Thanks

Hurrah!!!!!!! :D Great news and also very quick!!

It's nice to know things seem to be moving along in Ankara. I think we always have to remember that we (users of this forum) represent such a small number of applicants that go through Ankara. Going by this data (http://data.gc.ca/data/en/dataset/427337d0-7c36-4fed-8428-c6a63f8c19b3) Ankara is probably receiving on average more than 100 applications for spousal sponsorships each month! We represent maybe 10% of that number.

Definitely no harm in that! I visited the Canadian Embassy in Ankara before my husband and I got married it was actually a really nice place, haha. I think I visited the "Canadians only" entrance and area though (separate from the visa applicant area) as it was so quiet. The officer I saw was very kind and helpful.

Anyone? Any news?
:o
Somebody? some news? good one plz

Nope! Looks like another week of no PPT requests ??? :'(

Anyone else savour that time in the morning before you check your email or check-in with your spouse? I always feel so hopeful like "ANYTHING is possible in these next 15 minutes...maybe right now there is an email waiting for us!" But by the time it reaches 17:00 Turkish time and the end of the work day in Ankara time I move on, lol. ::)

I savor the moment before I check my email and there is a possible email from my lawyer but I check and ALWAYS NOTHING! I am getting seriously so impatient now that my husband is in Turkey! This process needs to end!

For the people waiting over 1 year... you both need a PPT request ASAP!!!!!! You're in my thoughts!

Yes, actually I think they should get an MP involved - I know they say as long as you're within processing time they can't do much, but trying something is better than nothing!

People who apply in Cairo use their MPs all the time!! I didn't really understand why though? Can someone explain??

Should we start sending Valentines gift baskets to their office? joking

Is there any sort of holiday in Ankara these days?
