Short Answer no one really knows, each case is different. However we look at older similar cases and try to figure out how long the wait could be. obviously the best would be to send a letter to the embassy and ask them, they know best. one other option is to order the GCMS notes (a copy of your file).
if you want help from the forum members then we may need to know some info about you. What is your timeline? are you the sponsor or the sponsored person, what nationality and where do you live?

there is also a spread sheet for Amman timeline in my signature.

Did you get a any letter after your status changed to "in process"? usually the next step would be a documents request letter. For sure your case is more complicated since you dont live in Canada, the officer need to make sure that you and your husband are really intend to go to live and stay in Canada.

the GCMS notes, are basically a copy of your electronic immigration file at the embassy, you can order the notes under the "Access to the imformation" Act., but someone living in Canada only can order them on you behalf. the notes can be ordered here: https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do , Cost $5 and takes around 1 to 2 months to arrive.

No problem!

if your status changed just last month to in process then i would wait before ordering the notes. it maybe also good to order them. it is your call.
Going to the embassy is a good idea, if you are a Canadian citizen then they will let you in, go and talk to someone there. Just ask politely they maybe able to tell you something. you wont lose anything by going.

Good luck.

mine changed to in process today!!! yayay :):)
