Hi there, I am too in Winnipeg. Did you hire a lawyer or consultant? They will help you to be fully prepared for a full hearing.

hello! I just want to know if my friend's case is subject for denial...here's her story: She went to Canada last year to visit her girlfriend and eventually got married there. Since, same sex marriage is not allowed in their country. However, she declared \that she had a common-law back home since that was the advise of the consultant that she hired upon acquiring a tourist visa...and now, they are fixing her paper and she's worried that declaring a common-law might affect their application...though, they hired a lawyer in Canada and the lawyer said that she must tell the truth on their application to be upfront and come clean upon submission of the application. What are her chances? Could this be a reason for denial? I personally don't know what to tell her since I have no idea how it works...hope you could share your idea...Thanks!

Your 'friend' should listen to her lawyer and tell the truth. No one can predict the outcome, but if your friend gets caught up in a lie, she would definitely get refused.

CIC is on strike from 11 June,13... does anyone have idea if its going to effect family sponsership ???

Notice – Strike Action

June 11, 2013 — The Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO) union is currently taking strike action. PAFSO union members responsible for processing visa applications have been walking out of offices in Canada and overseas.

Posted processing times for both temporary and permanent resident visa applications do not take into account work stoppages.

Anyone applying for a visa should anticipate delays and submit their application as far in advance as possible.

Contingency plans are already in place to ensure all offices remain open and are providing at least a minimum level of service. Priority will be placed on urgent humanitarian applications.

CIC continues to closely monitor the situation.

I received my blue file today ... but it didn't have any next update ....can someone guide me what will be next ????

What is a "blue file"

I heard that you don't need a lawyer, because you have to go for hearing by yourself, lawyer can't even go with you. is that true?
and do you need to show your finance during the hearing?

Hello everybody..I just have a question for people that were denied..so I can cross reference...for those who had an interview..when after the interview (how long after interview) were you informed of the denial?
Thank you
