Did any of you have to go to court and appeal because it is an awful experience at least it was for me. We won our case back in the day and it ended up not working out with the 2 of us but we still won with no help from my lawyer. me and my family won that case for us. It is a horrible thing to have to go through and if your relationship is genuine than i would not wish this on anyone. To have your relationship scrutenized and dissected is literally like going to hell and back. Good luck to all of you!

I agree. Going to court for appeal is an awful experience.... something close to a trauma lol I got out of there completely drained. From the start, I could feel the hostility of the Ministry's counsel and he bombarded me with tons of questions, most of them irrelevant and non-sense! He kept dwelling on a delicate matter. But all the while I showed strength. My poor husband... the ministry's counsel had a couple of nasty tactics with him in order to make him fall...

what kind of questions they will ask during the hearing? how long will it be?
we sent out our application June 2012,
I got refused letter Dec.2012, the reason is we don't have enough documents to proof we been together more than a year :(
my boyfriend is Canadian, we been together for five years, we have tones pics and family friends letter to show we are together for a long time. and letters from different landload too.
we sent a appeal letter Dec 2012 in Toronto, received a letter from ADR January 2013, haven't heard from them yet, how long will it be? we called them, they said it may take 2 years :(((
what should we do?

I am sorry to hear about your situation. When you received the letter from The ADR what did they tell you? IAD is different from ADR. An ADR is an informal hearing where they try to resolve the issue or issues before it goes to a full hearing. If you have proof that your marriage is genuine and continuing then you have a good chance of winning the appeal. I wrote numerous letters reguesting an ADR conference because the VO in Port of Spain was very cruel to my husband. The documents we provided at the interview went missing, so I provided them with all the information that was missing. They sent me a date for The ADR six months after I filed an appeal. I am happy and most grateful because I was slowly loosing my mind. I am going to see my husband in two weeks and I am so happy. I hope you will hear something soon, and I truly wish you the best and to let you know we are in it together.

HI, PLZ SEND ME CONTACT INFO OF UR LAWYER.

THANX.

Hey everyone,
I am dealing with a consultant, and although we haven't started the process yet, I have met with him a few times now and he seems to genuinely care about what he does. He was a VO for 30 years and now he has committed himself to helping others through the immigration process. I will list his details for you, feel free to contact him if you like.
