Hello all,

Today I have received GCMS notes from GetGcms.com and have the following concerns.

  • Eligibility was passed by an officer on Jul 14, 2020 (not a caseworker). On the same date, an officer requested "Info Sharing" Type: Biometric FCC - Additional Information" from the US. The strange thing is Info Sharing with the US was already done and "complete" But the old request was standard Type: Biometric FCC Detail.

  • On Jul 20 (six days later) IRCC received Biometric FCC - Additional Information and status changed to "Ready to assess" and since then application was not touched.
Just wondering what is the difference between standard Biometric FCC Detail and Biometric FCC - Additional Information and is it normal to assess it for more than three months since Jul 20.
Thank you in advance.

The biometric FCC refers to Five Country Conference that agreed to share date. High Value Data Sharing (HVDS) Protocol allows these countries to share fingerprints and biometric data for immigration or crime detection.

Additional information is requested if it is required, usually when there is a finger print match. This exchanging of additional information can include name, date of birth and travel document number etc.

Previously Info Sharing with the US was complete on Feb 2020 as shown here https://prnt.sc/v8nuxk
Fingerprint match was mentioned on Jan 2020 as shown here https://prnt.sc/v8nzhv
But the wording was Type: Biometric - FCC

An officer who assessed Eligibility (Jul 2020) and satisfied with everything however additionally requested Info Sharing with the US as shown here https://prnt.sc/v8o4pm
But this time wording was Type: Biometric - FCC Add Info.

Just wondering what difference "Add Info" makes in this request. The US already provided details but since July file was not even touched to assess received data.

Thank you in advance.

If there is a match based on the biometrics, additional info can be requested. This will not be disclosed and is done for all applications as a part of the inso sharing.

Hi,

Do you know what happens if you raise another gcms note, before the previous one arrives.

I asked for one one month ago, haven't received it yet. I know an officer worked on my file recently. The first GCMS note can not reflect the latest development. Can I raise a new one now? Because, it takes more than one month and if I wait for the first one to arrive , it will be more than one month.

Yes, you can. However, IRCC may combine both the requests and release the most recent GCMS notes.

I ordered my first set in April, and then placed my second request in June. I had got GCMS for my second request even before my first one arrived. The only thing is that the notes of my first order was only updated up to late of April while the second set which came earlier updated up to mid of June. It’s quite hilarious!

Thanks legalfalcon. Do you mean there is chance that I get only the new one after one month, (end of November) , instead of receiving the first one soon (hopefully) the second one in one month?

If you place a request for GCMS notes, and it is pending, and you file a new one, there can be 2 scenarios:

1. IRCC release the first and the later the second. Or the second first and the first.

2. Alternatively, they can combine both the requests and release the most recent notes. In this scenarios you will get 1 & 2 together, with a few days of placing your second request.

Thank you legalfalcon. Very helpful. No barrier then to raise a new gcms note.

The eligibility takes place in two stages. First an analyst or an assistant will review and make a recommendation. This can be recommended passed / Met / etc. This recommendation is then reviewed by an officer who makes a final determination. The terminology used such as met / recommended passed / passed an no relevance.

After your eligibility is passed, your security will be initiated.
If I understand this correctly, an officer has to specifically pass the eligibility? I used to think it will be recommended pass until the very end when an officer approves the entire case.

Also, is criminality dependent on eligibility being passed? I'm inland applicant who provided PCC after applying, so I guess that's delaying it? My exempt biometrics haven't been updated either :(

If you have 2 requests for Gcms Notes with IRCC concurrently you may receive a response like this. The 1st and 2nd requests will be treated as duplicates and only one (latest) file will be released. If Gcms Notes are delayed from IRCC you can always request the Gcms Notes from CBSA as well.

"File 2A-2020-12345 and File 2A-2020-67890 were processed together since they were duplicate requests. We have provided you with the most recent electronic notes"

I'm not able to order GCMS notes through getgcms.com. I choose the Credit Card option for the payment and when I submit, it takes me to an error page. I have been trying it for about a week now and the same thing happens every time. I have used this site to order before but now it just won't work.

Here's the snapshot of the error:

No, the eligibility has to be passed by an officer. See my previous post with the sample GCMS notes with the recommendation and then the officer's review available at #2,521

Criminality is done along with R10 based on the PCCs you submit. However, if your biometrics is outstanding or is a PCC is outstanding it will continue to show as pending until the documents are submitted.

Thanks. As for criminality i've already submitted my RCMP PCC back in mid August, still no update though :(
