How long will it take to process my application? (Timelines)

This is probably the most frequently asked question, mostly because there is no real answer. Every visa office has a different time frame. If you fill out and supply all of the forms correctly, you may be processed at some visa offices in as little as a few months. If the background check is an issue, it can take as long as a few years.
If everything is complete and no documents are missing, Canadian government starts to do security background check on you and your family. This may take several months or several years, depending on the country where you live and where you used to live. If it takes too long, you may be asked for an update of your documents so that the visa officer knows that you still qualify and that you did not abandon the application.

Amman office is hopeless case and i do not think there is a hope to transfer our file to another office like we wish . we need to work on transfer files to another office this is the only solution otherwise 47 months for now and 55 for the next schedule

Why are you insisting on the 55 ? last quarter they added 4 months why would they add 8 this time? Nic.

Who knows? They may reach 550 months at the end. Our grandchildren may get the visa on our behalf. Sorry if I am passing my pessimism to you

simply because instead of keep processing cases at least as the last quarter they dropped from 55 to 13 cases in the last update so this office really has no plan at all to reduce the backlog . i sent email with complaint against amman office to these emails amman@international.gc.ca ; cpc-ctd-ottawa@cic.gc.ca ; Minister@cic.gc.ca
this is the minimum we can do instead of just watching . do not forget to write your file number and your birth date and your full name

it is never because of security check our delay. it is only because one officer is doing the Québec visas . do not expect from one person to do miracle it is not his mistake it is the mistake of the person who distribute the work. I advise you to stop watch the other forums who is full with lucky Egyptian it will give you heart attack just check this forum and your email and I advise you to check your email after 1 year from now because on this pace I am sure that they will contact us end of 2015

I can really feel how disappointed you are mft and how difficult it is to pretend that we are not waiting for any news from this lovely office. I know that most of us here have this visa issue in his or her mind most of the time. For me, I really don't stop thinking about it as it is the solution to many of my problems. It is not easy to see how other offices are issuing visas while we are just watching and are unable to do anything except to have some hope to keep us alive. We cannot say "let's just forget about this matter" because we would then be laughing at ourselves. It is a matter of having a completely different future for us and for our children. What makes it more difficult for us is that we already know that we are accepted and deserve the Canadian residency and will later be eligible to become Canadian citizens but we are deprived of this right now just because of the negligence of some other people who think that we are not human beings like them. As one of our friends here once said, this kind of mess at the ministry of immigration and at Amman office should be brought to the attention of some court to take legal measurements against the ones responsible for this irony. They are playing with lives of human beings while they claim that they belong to the first world which cares most about human rights. They are really ruining lives and are not qualified to do the plans of receiving immigrants in their country.

guys,i am agreed with Nic
listen to me plz all,we have 2 choices for this situation:
1-the first is going together to the embassy for meeting the ambassador and explain him our case and asked him to find the solution for our cases.
2-the second as Nic said,is finding parliament memebers ,communicate with them by email ,expalin them our cases and what's happening in Amman office,or bring media to this office.
these r my suggestions,otherwise we have to wait miracle from this office or will wait 2-3 years to get the visa

I ask our friends living in Amman to go to meet the ambesseder put the date here to easy communicate with each other pls go may be it will not easy but u must find a way meet the council better than ambesseder pls we need to hear good news
