Hello guys,
I came to Canada three months ago as permanent resident. I want to apply for American visitor visa.
Is it too early to apply for American visa as im just being in canada for three months.
Does this make any impact on getting visa.
Seniors please help.

Well I would recommend you to wait for 6 months then apply for the US Visitors Visa but at the same time if you are having Full Time Job then I guess its good enough time to apply as well. You can tell them you are going on vacation and will be back to work...Good luck

Im not working yet. Is it necessary to have job for applying?

It's not necessary but if you've just gotten Canadian PR and don't have a job or anything fixing you to Canada, your odds of being rejected are much higher.

I agree with chipits. Having a permanent job is a very very plus point and will let know the US Visa Officer that you will come back to Canada rather than staying in US.Here also you need to show strong ties back to Canada to the US Officer...

It might be or it might not. Unfortunately we see many cases around here where new PRs are refused US visas shortly after arriving in Canada. Try applying by all means - but don't be too surprised /disappointed if you're turned down.

I am in a similar situation as you, I am planning on applying for a US visa too. I've been a PR for more than 8 months now. But unlike you i have a full-time job and i have previously lived in US for almost 10 yrs.

When you apply for the Visa you have to prove to the US govt that you plan to come back to Canada. You have to show proof like letter of employment (this is the best option) or proof that you own property like a house or land etc. If you look at the USCIS website, they will tell you a list of documents that you need.

3 months is too early to apply, and without a job you will probably get rejected, it don't matter if you are a PR. I will be applying sometime in Feb or so. I am not too worried right now.

good luck
