Hello everybody, I have few question about income tax.

Do I have to declare her exact income or can I just put 0$ because her income is very low and I support her for mostly 95% of her income.
Do I have to pay tax in canada on her income?
Does CIC will find it suspicious if we put 0$ for income and in our application we declare she was working. (She stop working just before new year)

thx in advance :)

She has to file income tax no matter how much she earned.
Don't provide false information to CIC, it's fraud and your case will be rejected if they find the truth.

Do you have to declare whose income?

Was the income obtained in Canada or outside of Canada?

If you are talking about your wife, absolutely, you MUST declare her income in your tax filings for 2015. Do NOT lie to CRA regarding income. That road leads to nowhere you want to go.

CIC doesn't care about your income, CRA is the entity that deals with taxes, as stated previously, and they very much care about your income.

ok Thank you, was not my intention to lie to cra. I was wondering because we are outland and she is living in Thailand and never work in canada.
It's my wife income and she earned it in Thailand

when you file taxes in canada all tax software will ask you least once if you or your wife have income outside canada and if you have so click on yes. dont lie or hide.

Yes , its called world income, converted into CAD
for purposes of tax reporting.
