Hi, my ECAS also got updated today. I did my medicals July 4 and I am still waiting for MCVO to receive them.

At least something is moving!!

Hi AG1ez, my ECAS got updated today as well, it went from 2 lines to 6 lines. I'm still waiting for my medicals to be received by MCVO, it's been almost 4 months since I underwent the exam.

Cheers

Hi Everyone

Today my ECAS changed. Before it was showing only 2 lines now it is showing 7 showing detailed information related to all communications coming from Mexico VO:

1. We received your application for permanent residence on October 15, 2014.

2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on May 4, 2015.

3. We started processing your application on June 11, 2015.

4. We transferred your application to the Mexico City office on December 24, 2014. The Mexico City office may contact you.

5. We sent you correspondence on May 4, 2015. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before 6 sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.

6. We sent you correspondence on June 11, 2015. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.

7. We sent you medical instructions on June 11, 2015. To avoid delays, please provide us the information requested in the letter as soon as possible. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Before it was only showing lines 1 and 3.

So far it doesn't say anything related to receiving the Medicals (old line 3).

I have a question. Has your ECAS changed too?? Did they change it just before receiving 3rd Line or PR or just because the system got updated? Please any comments will be helpful.

Thanks.

Well if what they told me at the Canadian Embassy in Havana is true your PR should be coming in the next few weeks, since they told me that it is taking approx. 4 months from Medicals Done to Passport Request. Let's see what happens, you are actually the next Cuban from the Forum in line to get a PR based on your Medicals. I should be next. Probably they mix the two of us together and they call me ahead of time 8)

That's what they told me at the embassy as well, 4 months... Hopefully in the coming 1-2 weeks everyone gets their PR. It's been a looong process for us all.

Hi guys,
for me it took more than 4 months (4 months and a half) from the Meds to the PR, so if it takes a bit longer, please do not despair!
Good luck :D

Hi guys just a little update:

Just a minutes ago my wife (she is the principal applicant) received a phone call from MCVO. They were asking for a copy of a document which is issued by the Colombian Army and is called "libreta militar".

They stated that they needed the copy to step forward with the process. We believe that soon we will be receiving the passport request.

What do you guys think?

I'm a bit anxious, but putting everything in God's hands.

Hello guys.

This question is for the Cubans. How do you do to get out of the country? I have read that you need a permit from the government, and in many ocassions is denied, is this true?. Just to feed my curiosity.

Thanks and Sorry for the question

It used to be that way, but not anymore, now If you have a passport and a visa you can get out. Before it used to be you got your passport and visa then you needed a permission from the government called the White Letter (Carta blanca) in order to be able to go through security in the airport.

Thanks for you answer. So I don't understand why people still risk their lives in the sea to go to Miami. This week 12 cubans and a dog arrived to Miami beach, and the event was film from the beach with a smartphone.

I will assume that's because they cannot get a visa and most definitively not for USA. Usually embassies/consulates know that Cubans are prone to stay illegally in their countries, therefore it is not that easy to get a visa just to visit a country as a tourist, you have to prove big time that you will return to Cuba (like employment, family to take care here, properties etc etc) , but even then, people that meet all those requirements and do get a visitor visa to other countries they will remain in those countries and not return to Cuba. On another note I can see now more people trying to get to USA as soon as they can since all the modifications to laws that could/will come with the new diplomatic relationships established by Cuban and American governments, which can translate that eventually USA can abolish the Cuban Adjustment Act which allows the USA government to grant political asylum easily to Cubans since they know they will be covered eventually by the Cuban Adjustment Act. But if that get removed then Cubans will be treated by the same rules as any other illegal immigrant trying to seek refugee in the USA.

Not that what I just explained justify what people do, but that's my assumption of why they do it apart from some other economical/political reasons they might have.

Hello my friends!
