Congratulations Elizasalaz, I assume you will be getting your passports stamped soon.

It looks like only 6 members from the forum have not received their PR yet and 5 of them are Cubans. Let's hope our medical results speed up and we Cubans start getting our PRs.

Hi guys,

So I just got PPR!! I received a call from MVCO saying that I'm approved. They asked a few questions and told me that a letter will be sent to my inbox with instructions.

Congratulations, that's great news, it means the 4 months period for Cubans is holding true. I am next in line, I still have hopes they call us in batch :D

Did you check if they updated your ECAS with the medicals received stuff? or something else?

Hey another question for you: What date you were told to go to the embassy in Havana to get your passport stamped?

Thanks!! I have checked my ECAS multiple times today but no change so far. I already received the letter from MCVO with the next step, which is to go to Hav Embassy to get my Visa, will be going next Monday.

Did they told you to go Monday Oct 5th or they gave you the freedom to choose the date??

Man Congrats again I am really happy for you !

Nice, let us know how it goes on Monday and if you are able to get the passport stamped on the same day.

Thanks again! I'm a bit in shock still. I can take my passport whenever I want as long as it is in the next 30 days.

Well, I'm really confused now. They just sent another email saying that the previous one with the passport request was a mistake, that my decision will come in about a month and that I must not go to the Embassy in Havana. :(

Come again?? WHAT it is wrong with MCVO playing with our feelings like that >:( >:( >:(

If I were you I will write them asking for an explanation as to why you get called for PPR and all of the sudden they retracted saying they made a mistake. Also I would try to get GCMS Notes ASAP (it takes about a month to get them through email) but at least you will really know what happened to your file and the real reason why they made the mistake (if they don't reply to your complaint).

You know what you could try play dumb and go to the embassy on Monday with your passport and see what happens, if they tell you anything related to the 2nd email you could just say that you haven't checked your email again after you received the 1st one which it is completely believable for a Cuban since not everyone have access to internet in Cuba, let alone access to internet 24/7. Who knows maybe the stamp your passport "by mistake" and that they cannot take back 8)

Please do let us know what is the outcome of this messy situation MCVO has put you in.

I already wrote them asking for an explanation. The thing is, the lady who called earlier in the morning was very polite, she said that I was approved and the process was almost complete, she asked if I still had the same passport I used in the original application, if so then she would send and email with a letter to be taken to the Embassy in Havana for getting the Visa stamped (which arrived minutes later), almost at the end the call dropped and she even called back to make sure everything was OK. Two hours later they sent an email saying that the PPR was sent by mistake with no further explanation, just that my decision will come in about a month. I don't know what they're playing at in MCVO.

I thought about doing this but I already wrote them back asking about the situation so I acknowledged the receipt of their email.

If you really want to know for sure what happened, you should request ATIP/GCSM Notes under Access to Information Act., it does take a month to receive them and probably by the time you get then you will already have your passport stamped but in the f..ked case they take longer than a month to call you back you will receive GCMS notes before and you will have real information to make a more informed complaint.
