I have a question from all the members in this thread, please inform me if you have info about what I have to ask. First of all, Here is my timeline for parent sponsorship:
Applied october , 2010
Additional documents requested, july 30 2014
Documents sent, september 9 2014
Visa office, islamabad, pakistan
My question is,
My husband is a co signer with me to sponsor my parents. i came to canada on 2009 after getting married, I initially did some part time job, and than quit becoz I wanted to study. And after my son was born I am still a full time stay at home mother. But my husband has a really well paying job, so is that ok? I mean I dont have any income myself, but I am showing my husband's income to sponsor my parents. Is there any problem with that? Please let me know.
Thanks

No problem at all if you had named your husband as a cosigner back in October 2010 when you applied. Just need to have enough income (between you & your husband) to support all your family members i.e you, your husband, your children and all sponsored persons.

As long as you sent what was requested you will be fine. The list asks for everything that must be sent. The only thing extra which was optional were the police certificates and RPRF. Did you include these items in your package which you submitted last week.
I also did not send PCC and RPRF coz in my country PCC is valid only 5 months. I just sent what is in document checklist request. So do u know when CIC will send AOR to us?
Thank you

Hi,

My timeline is as follows:

Parent Application received at CPC -M : Sept 10,2010
Documents Requested: July 31, 2014
Documents Send to CPC-M: Sept 15, 2014

I noticed your file is transferred to Ottawa. I thought the step is to transfer to local visa office. Is your Mother in law in Canada? I am trying to understand what is the criteria for the file to transfer to ottawa instead of LVO.

Thanks,

regards,

Yes they do. Received mine Dec. 13, 2014. The next letter was Feb 6, 2014 saying I was eligible for sponsorship and that the file was begin transferred to Ottawa

In your documents sent on 15 Sept were you able to obtain police certificates for your parents and include those as well.

Dear Another Immigrant
For some reason CIC now seem to want to use just the option C printout for the year you apply and the previous year to assess your income. Probably easier for them and less work. You are right in that at the time of application one could show income for previous 12 months in form of pay stubs and still apply. Not any more with new applications so they are just trying to speed things up with just option C printouts rather than people sending them paystubs which then require more time to verify.
Therefore I think they will still allow a person to prove income in that way hopefully, but it may take more time than just using the option C printout method.
However my understanding was that at the time you applied if there were for example 9 persons in your family then you had to provide income for that many people, you could not assume that in the future your family size would decrease. I may be wrong but I would look into this before you submit your application. You don't want to face a problem later on.
Hopefully some other posters may be able to shed some light on this matter. I know when you submit any CIC application you must meet the requirements at time of submission, so in your case at time you submitted application you needed to have enough income for the total number of people in your family at that time in 2010.

Are you sure you didn't have enough income in the previous 12 months prior to your application in 2010.

Hope that helps
Dear soonihope thanks once again for your help

I am calculating all my income again to make sure it is correct. Lets suppose my accountant has missed my one T4 or my income for cash job. So what is solution in that case ? . e.g. can I go to CRA to re access my new income for year 2010 at this stage and get correct option C ?

Best thing is you take the advice of your accountant regarding all things related to option C.
Good luck

Thanks Soonihope, for the reply. I bit consfused with your answer, asking once again:) I wanted to say that I am the sponsor and my husband is co- signer, my option c prinit out does not show any income becoz I did notmwork all these years. But my husband has a really good job, so itmwont be a problem if sponsor has no income herself but husband has income and that income is well enough to supportmthe famly and the sponsored person?
Also once CIC - mississuaga recieved the requested documents how long does it take till they send us the letter letting us know if or not we meet the sponsorship requirements ?
Thankss alottt

Initially I thought the normal procedure was to send the file to the local visa office, Kiev in our case. I believe there has been a change in policy, to centalize a lot of the processing in Ottawa. Maybe they are just taking the processing load from some of the embassies, or maybe all - I can't say. They did say that the file might be sent to Kiev later, presumably if some things needed to be verified locally.

My mother in law is not in Canada now. I am sure the decision to send the file to Ottawa had nothing to do with her being in Canada or not.

Our situation is similar to yours, and our sponsorship was approved! My wife also came to Canada in 2009 after we were married. She didn't work for the first two years. I was co-signer on the sponsorship application and my wife had no income showing on the option C's for 2009 and 2010. I also have a good income, and my income alone was good enough to have the sponsorship approved.

Nothing to worry about, no problem!!

I answered your first question in my previous post: there is no problem with the co-signer being the only source of income.

We sent in all our documents around the end of October, 2013. Received a letter dated Dec. 13, 2013 acknowleding reciept and stating the application was compete. Recieved a letter dated Februay 6, 2014 saying that sponsorship was approved and the file was sent to Ottawa.

I saw a note today on the CIC site that processing was started on September 10. There is also a note that medical results have been received.

Can anyone tell me what this means in terms of when we might have the PRV in hand? I have heard of times that range from a few months to a few years. I would be nice to have a better idea of the time frame.

Hi Everyone,

Question about Schedule A Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) form:

I have applied for parents sponsor application in 2010 and i am preparing documents now. My question is whom do I need to fill the Schedule A Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) form for? I have parents (mother/father) and myself (Sponsor - i am in Canada) and Sister (who is in US and she is married not accompanying).

My understanding is I need to fill out the form for parents (father and mother) only. but how about my self as sponsor and my sister - do i need to fill out separate form for this including sign from individual?
