That is my question too. Do they send any receipt for complete file or not.
Yes they do. Received mine Dec. 13, 2014. The next letter was Feb 6, 2014 saying I was eligible for sponsorship and that the file was begin transferred to Ottawa

Did your parents include police certificates or did you just send documents listed on checklist.

I included one from our home country but not from other countries since she went out of the country 20-40 years ago ;D. It says in their letter that we can include police clearances with the package but we can't send it afterwards without the request. We will just take care of clearances when CIC specifically asks for it.

I could not. It takes time in my home country. My parents are working on it so hopefully they will have it in 2-3 months.

Your welcome. Were you able to include the police certificates for your parents or will you wait for when they ask later.

Hi All,

I am new to this forum, I dont know is it right place to post my questions. I have question regarding my parents sponsorship. I had applied sponsorship for my parents in June 2010. My parents belongs to India. I have received letter to submit documents. I think it is second stage what they call it normally.

I have following questions. Please help

1. How the Immigration department calculates Income requirement/eligibility for sponsor It is kind of last twelve month criteria? So I had applied in June 2010 how it will be calculated
2. One of my parent is passed away. Still income requirements would be same or it is now changed (means it will be now less one person)?
3. When i will submit papers, what would be next step and how much time it will take
4. My single parent is already in Canada on Super visa.
5. Please advise what i should keep in mind to avoid any delay in this situation

Thanks

using your option C printout. you need to send option C for 2009 and 2010
2. One of my parent is passed away. Still income requirements would be same or it is now changed (means it will be now less one person)?
It would be for one person less now.
3. When i will submit papers, what would be next step and how much time it will take
First as sponsor you will need to be approved and then final stage medicals for your parent and then visa. Difficult to say how long all this will take
4. My single parent is already in Canada on Super visa.
not a problem.
5. Please advise what i should keep in mind to avoid any delay in this situation
check application documents are complete and include all that has been requested.

Thanks

Hi
I applied June 2010, document request on July 30 2014.
I have some question about educational record for dependent under 22, when submitted I was 17 and now I am 21. I have submitted application last week and I didn't send educational record along with application because in document checklist not require educational record for under 22.
But I heard someone who was dependent under 22 still send educational record along with application even if in document checklist not require.
So my question is: does it gonna problem or not for dependent who do not send educational record?

Thank you for all response.

As long as you sent what was requested you will be fine. The list asks for everything that must be sent. The only thing extra which was optional were the police certificates and RPRF. Did you include these items in your package which you submitted last week.

Hi soonihope

Thank you very much for your quick response. I still have questions.

1. Option C just show the income for complete fiscal year i.e. either 2008 or 2009 or 2010 . Did not say anything about last 12 months. As far as i know to sponsor parents the income is calculated for last 12 months not for fiscal year.
Q. So CIC itself will calculate from Option C for last 12 months? i.e from June 2009 to June 2010?.
Q So in my case it will be calculated from June 2009 to June 2010 for (7-1) person. As one of my parent is passed away.
Q. And if my income for period of June 2009 to June 2010 is OK (as per LICO table) for 7-1=6 persons then i am eligible, even originally I had filed an application for 7 persons and at that time my income was not as per LICO for 7 persons but income was equal for 6 persons, is that my understating is correct?

Thanks

Dear Another Immigrant
For some reason CIC now seem to want to use just the option C printout for the year you apply and the previous year to assess your income. Probably easier for them and less work. You are right in that at the time of application one could show income for previous 12 months in form of pay stubs and still apply. Not any more with new applications so they are just trying to speed things up with just option C printouts rather than people sending them paystubs which then require more time to verify.
Therefore I think they will still allow a person to prove income in that way hopefully, but it may take more time than just using the option C printout method.
However my understanding was that at the time you applied if there were for example 9 persons in your family then you had to provide income for that many people, you could not assume that in the future your family size would decrease. I may be wrong but I would look into this before you submit your application. You don't want to face a problem later on.
Hopefully some other posters may be able to shed some light on this matter. I know when you submit any CIC application you must meet the requirements at time of submission, so in your case at time you submitted application you needed to have enough income for the total number of people in your family at that time in 2010.

Are you sure you didn't have enough income in the previous 12 months prior to your application in 2010.

Hope that helps
