    Child arriving alone from US

Shouldn't he already be a Canadian, by virtue of his father being Canadian?

Would marriage make it less complicated?

Agreed, it's not going to make any difference. Once a PR you're entitled to those things regardless of marital status.

    marriage fraud

Asking here for help on how to beat the system is an affront to those of us that are in genuine relationships longing to be with our partners. You're a dodgy git and I hope you never set foot in Canada.

was told today it would take 30+ months for my US spouse to come here?

NO NO NO NO, A THOUSAND TIMES NO. There is nothing, not one thing, a consultant or lawyer can do to speed up the process. At best, and only if you're very lucky and happen to get a competent one, they can help you put a better application in. Most people are able to put in good applications...

moving application to less processing time visa office by changing residency?

The problem is CIC processes your application where they want to based on their operational needs. Moving might not make a difference

Do we really need an immigration lawyer?

Ok how 'bout this. If you do hire a lawyer, double check everything they say with the people here.

Do we really need an immigration lawyer?

Do not hire a lawyer. They will take thousands of your dollars and at best just waste your time. Worst case you will get bad advice that results in years worth of delays or a rejected application. Even complicated cases I wouldn't trust a lawyer with. The horror stories and stories of complete...

    Spousal sponsorship

I'm really, truly sorry to see you at such a low point. You are right, CIC is a heartless bureaucracy. Tell me though, why do you think Christians would have an easier/quicker time? And has your wife been extending her visitor status all this time?

    Spousal sponsorship

I would delete this post and start a new thread. You'll get more/better answers that way.

    Text Messages

No need to go crazy, don't include every message ever. We just included a sampling of a few messages per month, some special, some routine, some horrible. You know, the kind of thing that shows that your relationship is real. What CIC doesn't want is a 500 page application!

    Spousal sponsorship

I'm not sure if there's one, but here's a quick list off the top of my head: AOR - Acknowledgement of Receipt COPR - Confirmation of Permanent Residency PPR - Passport Request VO - Visa Office (sometimes with the location, ie, NDVO for New Delhi Any others, feel free to PM me.

Your aunt has a relative in the country, her husband. Therefore she is not able to sponsor her niece/nephew.

    Spousal sponsorship

The very second you land as a permanent resident, you are able to work. You will need a Social Insurance Number, but this is done in 5 minutes at any Service Canada location. You can also get one at some airports right after the PR process is done.

    OCTOBER 2014 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS!

That really sucks man. I know from lurking on the spousal appeal thread that when they don't give you a positive answer at the end of the interview it usually means the decision that comes is not a good one. Silver lining is that the vast majority of appeals are approved.

common law spouse sponsorship - question about a timeframe

I've never seen anything from CIC that says a couple can be apart for any length of time. At the very least I would wait long enough so that the 3 week break is not included. If you want as close to a guarantee as possible, then wait a year from your last time apart.
