    Just to clarify, I did not mean to suggest that anyone was giving Canadian-born individuals preferential treatment. Just that background checks etc might get done quicker leading to a quicker approval for sponsorship.

    I wonder too if Canadian-born individuals get approved for sponsorship quicker. Maybe there's less to scrutinize because their right to sponsor is immediately apparent based on their birth certificate? Obviously I have no idea what happens in the CIC or how things work, it's just a thought I had.

    Your SA letter should say exactly where to send it. It should have a mailing address, a web site where you can send messages as well as a fax number. In my case, it's the overseas visa office where the application was sent, I imagine it'd be the same for you. In other words, Mexico.

    I think it's normal that you haven't heard anything yet. I'd also suggest you use the November 2014 forum, since that's technically when you applied. In other words, it's based on when they received it, not when you sent it. Good luck!

    Sadly, they specified which office abroad it would be going to - Sydney. That's where it should go, but I'm still hoping they'll decide to keep it at CPC-M.

    It's my understanding that you can't really send additional details or forms until they ask for them. Think about it, without the UCI, they have no way of linking another set of documents to an existing one. Best to wait, I say.
