    a question about pregnancy costs/insurance

I'm not sure about minimal costs... I work in the finance department at a hospital in Ontario. We would bill someone in the OP's situation $2,700 per day. This would not include any doctor's fees or certain scans. Furthermore any prenatal visits or clincs would run $600 each. Yes, you could...

Does driving probation effect my Sponsorship application?

As long as she's not currently incarcerated, an undischarged bankrupt, on welfare or ever been convicted of violence against a family member, she'll be fine.

    Spousal sponsorship

You used to be able to choose the visa office. Not anymore. CIC will send it wherever they see fit. Generally speaking, though, ANYTHING is faster than the New Delhi office!

    cover letter for Immigration Officer

Use the KISS principle - Keep It Simple, Silly (I changed the last word to be nice). How you've explained it above is sufficient! "I didn't know the immigration rules, I was unprepared and was thus refused entry." Maybe add a short 1 liner "Since then, I have educated myself, followed the rules...

Maths test anyone? - Confused about fees!

I agree that it was irrelevant, that's the very first thing I said. I also think it's horribly rude to correct someone's grammar so it's a good thing I didn't do that. At no point did I say "maths" was wrong, I just pointed out that it's not used here. I'm sorry you took it that way, but given...

Risk of waiting VO to request medical exam result

That is them requesting it. We did the medicals upfront and we had no such message. She should do it ASAP. She should have done it upfront because that's what CIC wants and making them ask for it only adds to the processing time. Not only that but they often waive the 1 year validity...

Maths test anyone? - Confused about fees!

Completely irrelevant, I know, but in North America, it's a math test, not maths.

    Sibling sponsorship

This is not necessarily always the case - my public school board has an "ask no questions" policy. They will enroll anyone even without status. Having said that, I don't know if the student visa requires payment to the school board as a condition.

    Spousal sponsorship

Congrats! I'm glad it went smoothly!

    Sibling sponsorship

I think CIC would see this merely as a ruse to bring her here, I wouldn't expect this to work.

    Sibling sponsorship

More importantly, you would only be able to sponsor your sibling if 1)You had no family in Canada, which you do and 2)Your parents are deceased, which they aren't.

    Spousal sponsorship

Proxy marriages are not recognized as actual marriages in Canada.

    Spousal sponsorship

Scylla is right. You'll have to get married in person or live together as if you were married for a year. There's no need to get divorced as you are not actually married.

    Spousal sponsorship

A)yes B)no C)no - you want to send a complete package. Getting parts of it in will only add to your processing time and they might just return it and ask you to resubmit when it's complete. The most important thing is to read, several times, the guide for the region your wife lives in.

    Spousal sponsorship

While not ideal, it should be fine but I would be certain to provide as much proof of the relationship as possible and be sure to explain just as you've done here

    OCTOBER 2014 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS!

Oh good, I've had a few crossed wires on here lately, where people are mad at me because of a misunderstanding, so I'm glad that wasn't the case here!

    OCTOBER 2014 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS!

I wouldn't worry too much about "in progress". For us, it only showed up the same day as DM. For the longest time we just had application and medicals received. Out of nowhere, it went to DM and at the same time they added in process, but dated 2 days prior. YMMV, of course.

    OCTOBER 2014 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS!

Sometimes with the written word it's hard to understand if there's something going on, but I wasn't trying to dismiss what you were saying, just that I had no opinions on why CIC had requested the birth certificate or what it could mean. I just wanted to let you know that getting DM, without...

    OCTOBER 2014 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS!

I don't have any inisght into the whys and wherefores, but I know from spending way too much time on here that if you are being refused, the DM on ECAS is not where you'll hear about it.
