my sponsorship has been cancelled by my husband. what should I do

If you do not have close relatives in Canada AND want to continue to stay in Canada, try contacting support services: www.familyservicetoronto.org/programs/vaw/centres.html If you are not in Toronto, there are links in the above site where you can seek help. Collect evidence that show you are...

    Sponsorship of spouse confusion!

He could try, but that would be misleading. If you marry and then apply for his TRV, it would be better. The key is to show that he has enough ties to his curent country of residence that he would not over stay his trv. When you come together, you can show his "dual-intent" - intent to stay...

I wouldn't raise my hopes - even if the strike got over today. CIC would continue to maintain the quota they have in place for parents/grandparents category. :'(

Medicals expire exactly one year after the date on which the first x-ray was taken. Nothing can be done except wait. Toronto_pta's parents got a call from NDVO and gave three days to enter Canada (otherwise, the medicals would have expired). That's how CIC works.

I think, Background Checks are just a way to fulfill the quotas set each year. It is more of an excuse than actual checks.

If your dad is currently working, just provide occupation or job title. Hence in your case, you could simply provide "General Manager" along with that, which division he looks after would also help For example, General Manager - Operations or Accounts or whatever...

SPR means Sponsor. "spr eligibility - passed" means the sponsorship portion of the application is passed. This is usually done by CIC-M tfr eligibility (Status Open) means the file is eligible for transfer from one office to the other. in progress spr means the sponsorship part of the...

If you are the sponsor, then you should report it, as it may affect the LICO cut-off.

I agree with user828. When a visa is issued, its validity cannot be beyond the validity of the passport. You are not sure if the visa would be stamped as soon as you send the ppts in. If it takes long, your ppt may have already expired, thus delaying your application. It is better to renew the...

Congratulations Toronto_pta. It is a shame, however, the way NDVO works. I hope your parents have a better experience in Canada than what they had to endure with NDVO.

*not from ND* :) If PCC is reqd from ND, it is better to wait, as it does not take long to get pcc from ND. See the link below. www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/police-clearance-certificate-in-india-easy-way-t39302.0.html

Are you filling it on a computer? If so, when you select where the applicant would stay in Canada, the field Certificate de selection... becomes blank if you select a province other than Quebec. If you are an Indian Citizen, you could leave this field blank

Scared and Overwhelmed - Bringing my UK boyfriend back

Think of it this way - If something doesn't make sense in an application, that triggers an interview. For common-law it means "How you manage your common affairs?" Finances, the place your live, expenses, trips (holidays etc) - are they done together? Acceptance of your relationship within...

Scared and Overwhelmed - Bringing my UK boyfriend back

Requests for interviews are very subjective and changes from one officer to the other. All you have to do in your application is to prove that your relationship is genuine. That you did not enter into the relationship to get in to Canada. It is much more difficult to prove "common-law"...

    Fingerprinting confusion

CIC would not ask for fingerprints. However, the authorities issuing a Police Certificate (ACRO?) may have a requirement to submit fingerprints. www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/europe/united-kingdom.asp

Scared and Overwhelmed - Bringing my UK boyfriend back

FYI, even if you both are "in Canada" you can still apply "outland". Applying "Outland" means specifying the processing office as "London UK" (in your case) instead of Canada. You both can stay in Canada while the "outland" process continues. The only drawback (if you can call that as one) is...

You could submit an online inquiry (based on where the application is). Police certificate expiry after 3 months from what date?

It is a common MYTH that a police certificate expires in 3 months. Here's quote from CIC website This does NOT mean that the PCC expires after 3 months. What it means is that, the date on which the certificate was issued should not be earlier than 3 months from the date of your application...

I would say, ask your parents to go for Medicals as soon as possible and along with a copy of section A (which you have to send to LVO after the medicals are done), provide a reason why the medicals were delayed.
