No, I haven't submitted the PCC yet. The Nov 25 letter had just mentioned to apply for the PCC. We started the PCC process last week and hope to submit it along with the medicals when that request arrives.

Personally, I've never heard of a visa officer keeping a passport after the interview. Passports and visa pictures are usually sent in by mail after we recieve a letter instructing us to do so.

So its approx 2 months. I had submitted the docs mid January so I'd expect a response in March, I guess. I thought that, when CIC had sent the letter on Nov 25, doesn'tit meant that the spo and hence they have asked for more docs (stage II)? I wouldn't worry much about the telephone status...

When I think of it again, the info might be correct. They may have sent the file to the local office as stated, but the local office may not have started to process those. Processing of these files may have been picked up by CPC-M under the new process. Just a guess.

Yes, seems like that could be the reason. Though, I cannot seem to recollect I'd have done that :( So I am not the first one in that situation? What a relief! Will call CIC first thing Mon and find out the correct status.

The odd thing is, I just called the 24hrs CIC number and entered my details, lo - it worked! However, it said the application was forwarded to the nearest Visa Office (presumably, NDelhi) on Apr 16, 2010! 2010??? How could that be possible? Yes I did, but the details doesn't work on the CIC...

No luck yet (Maybe 'cause I'm a citizen so PR numbers won't work?) Anyway, keeping my fingers crossed that they have received the documents I had sent last month. :)
