It should take about a year. From what I understand, CIC has given itself 2 years to clear the backlog (hence the pause in accepting new applications).

There are a couple of things odd in the email (not that I am questioning it). It says "We have received your application for permanent residence in Canada in the Family class on 03/25/2008". This means, the second stage of the sponsorship process started in 2008 so shouldn't the timeline begin...

Due to a lot of change in the system of processing parent's application, ecas and the automated call center status system do not reflect the correct status. A few people here have even got the email to proceed for Medicals and PCC, yet their status on ecas still states Application Received. To...

Need experts or anybody who has an idea with immigration!

TRV is a Temporary Resident Visa. If your child is a Canadian Citizen (that is what I am implying when you said that your child was eligible for Citizenship Card), then TRV is not the way to go. TRV is for foreign nationals who want to visit Canada.

You can also visit the Canadian Embassy and ask them to issue a 'travel document' for your child if your child is eligible for citizenship.

Hopefully not. CIC has now changed the entire system of processing parents files. once CIC-M approves the sponsorship, those files which are fairly straight-forward (where no local knowledge of documents required), a portion of these are forwarded to CPP-O (Ottawa) for final processing. Others...

I had sent mine on Jan 16th. Expecting it to take 2 months to hear from CPC-M. As regards status on e-cas it still states Application Received - that is the original application I had made in 2008. The automatic call center status says file was transferred to LO in 2010. So I wouldn't go by...

family sponsership help october 2008 new delhi

I had applied for my mom's sponsorship in Oct 2008. In Nov 2011 I received a letter asking me to submit additional documents which I did in Jan 2012. I am now awaiting further instructions. Did you check your online status or CIC's automatic status check at their call center? You can also speak...

How long have you been married? The longer the marriage, the lesser the burden of proof. If you have been married recently or lived apart for long, then you would have to show more proof of your relationship.

    Representative

Sure you can. A representative can be relative, in this case, you. In that case all correspondence regarding the application would come to you directly.

    PLEASE I NEED URGENT HELP

Call CIC again and see if you can provide an alternate address (your office address, for example). Also check with Canada Post - your local post office. Tell them you have not received 2 important letters. Do you receive your regular mail?

    Police Clearance Certificate

Try calling VFSGlobal in that case. Until recently, they used to accept appliations for PCC (but we now have to go to the consulate). But atleast, they could give you some answers.

    PLEASE I NEED URGENT HELP

Can you check your application status online? If so, it also shows your current mailing address which CIC has in their records. There is also an option to change it, if there is any mistake. There is no reason why you should be missing both the letters.

So far, we do not have any information on how long the local VO would take to issue the visa. As regards the PCC, if you have submitted the PCC from the local police station, then there is no need to send another PCC (local police or passport office) to NDelhi. Your entire file gets transferred...

Jokes! Something to ease the tension of this process :)

A man used to visit a bar at the same time every single day, order 5 beers at once and take them to a table and drink it one after the other. He told the curious bartender that they were 5 childhood friends who grew upto together and had a trend of drinking a glass of beer everyday. Now that...

    Police Clearance Certificate

You need to be a 'resident' of Canada in order to apply for PCC thru the Indian Consulate. Since you are on visit visa, I doubt you'd qualify for that. However, there is no harm in trying. Simply call them up and check if they can issue the PCC to you.

    What are your questions?

    super visa

Super-visa would be an expensive route. First try inviting your parent with simple trv (visit visa) and let him stay for 6 months ( do not overstay at any cost). Next try for the multiple entry trv, again not overstaying the visa dates. By that time, hopefully you would meet the income criteria.

www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG7TOC.asp This is where Shuga must have got the information. scroll down to the section of police certificates under step 1 gather documents. The 12 month validity is mentioned there. When it comes to differing views, I'd err on the side...

    Police Clearance

0jenifer0: IMO, personal presence is required for pc - atleast in India. If you require a pc from abroad, your first step should be to visit that country's website and get that info from there. If its not available there, get their phone number and call them up. I do not know what you mean when...
