You will need to explain what you did for 3 years in UK (not to us, but to the Canadian embassy!). If your answer assures them you are going to be a genuine student in Canada, you may be given the study permit.

I think you should have applied as a visitor. Because of your profession, they may have felt you have other reasons for obtaining the OWP.

No need to update embassy. You will notify or update the embassy only if you are changing your program or college. Which documents are you referring to? Medicals? The medicals will not be with you or your agent anyway.

CAIPS won't show a different reason but it will give you some insight into why the VO felt you are not a genuine student. I would say, if money is not a hindrance, then apply for CAIPS at the earliest. Good luck!

That means, you already have a Master's in your home country or elsewhere (maybe a distance degree) and you want to pursue a more extensive Masters in regular mode or just for obtaining foreign credentials.

Open work permit is for working. As per the CIC website, any course of a duration greater than 6 months requires a study permit. And if I'm not mistaken, a person cannot hold both study as well as open work permit at the same time.

Apply for CAIPS note. Do NOT apply for your study permit again until you get the CAIPS note. +1 if this helped you.
