Hmmm I cannot find anything about it there. Note: I applied online. I searched a bit and saw articles (not from ircc though) that the system automatically identifies the application. I already uploaded all docs like financial support etc but all I want is fast processing.

Not sure if it helps but I saw in the US some people use 'FNU' for an unknown family name. Maybe Canada has a similar provision? Consult experts though!

This is correct. You check a box which is basically a blanket declaration when you log in, that counts as signature. The main form has to be digitally validated however (with the barcode etc).
