Do we need to download and sign the Family information form while applying online?

The reason I am asking this question is that I read somewhere that no forms need to be signed if applying online

This is correct. You check a box which is basically a blanket declaration when you log in, that counts as signature. The main form has to be digitally validated however (with the barcode etc).
