HI guys,
I want to invite my parents to visit me and my family and my question is about the interval between 2 visits. My parents hold multi-entry visitor visa valid til 2025 and stayed with us from Aug, 2017 to Apr, 2018(roughly 8 months including 2 months extension) and plan to come again at 20ish of Nov, 2018(7 months since leaving Canada). Would that be a problem? I emailed CBSA and they said it's IRCC's scope and I tried to call IRCC but I wasn't put into the queue due to the large call volumes. Anyone has an answer or know somebody I can ask?
Any suggestion is appreciated!

So you say they stayed 8 months did they overstay then or did they apply to extend their stay given the usual maximum is 6 months without an extension ? General advice is to stay outside Canada for an equivalent time spent in Canada so although no way to predict what happens next time 7 months away possibly OK although not sure about effect of overstay if there was one.

Oops forgot to mention, they applied for extension of 2 months and they didn't overstay.

Thanks

There is no problem in that. They can come as planned in Nov.

Good Luck

To close the loop in case anyone else has the same concern/worry, my call to IRCC finally got answered. The lady told me "there is not such a law". Such a relief!

How do you get a human on the phone? (if outside Canada)

If you're in Canada, how long did it take to get someone?

I'm in Canada.
And regarding the time, I made around 20 calls in the past week and none of them reached a representative because the "large volume" and they didn't even put me in the queue. And finally yesterday my call got transferred to an agent and I was told the wait time was approximately 31 mins and eventually I waited for 40+ mins and talked for around 40 secs.
