I would second T.Rex ...I think it is better to show INR equivalent of more than 6000 CAD in your spouse's Indian account while applying for TRV.

I think it is definitely recommended to include bank statements showing funds along with the application. I know a few people who were declined for visitor visa just because of 'Insufficient funds' so I am pretty sure this is something they look at while processing visa.

You do not need to include the entire guide, however there could be some forms/checklists embedded inside the 'Country specific guides' which you might have to fill up and send with your application

I would highly recommend getting it from your closest passport office. Their process is quite streamlined, it took only 15 minutes for us to get Police Clearance Certificate

Did your friend try with the sponsor's details or the primary applicant's details? For me, it was intially showing up only when I searched with the primary applicant's details i.e. my wife's details, however when I searched with the sponsor details it didn't show up until we got our SA
