    Kitchener Citizenship Application

That is truly amazing . Browsing in the forum you can see 2014 RQ applicants getting their oaths in July yet the keep a 2011 applicant in limbo. I think they enjoy abusing the remaining 2011-2012 applicants for some reason.

    Withdrawing a Citizenship Application

That a good deal for CIC - they got paid 100$ for the first application and now an extra 600$ for the second one :). Its really sad an unfair that it has come to this ! good luck.

    2011 and 2012 Applicants

I am in exactly the same situation like you. My wife who I sponsored to come here already received her citizenship (she got RQ but her case was finalized within a year). This is an apparent pattern I have seen in many cases in the forum: male applicants are subjected to more scrutiny and...

    2011 and 2012 Applicants

seems the clearances are the new excuse for dragging 2011-2013 applicants on and on while 2014 applicants get their oath within 6 months. I have seen some 2014 RQ recipients getting their file done and not to mention the CIT-520 2014 recipient who get oath pretty quickly. To be honest I don't...

That doesn't contradict what the interviewer said. You might very well still receive the oath within the time frame they told you. be positive. good luck.

@ St Clair-RQ-Preliminary review completed, referred to level 2 decision maker

Re: @ St Clair-RQ-Preliminary review completed, referred to level 2 decision maker I find it strange that a background checks will take more than 8 weeks to complete. Nowdays when all the computer systems are interconnected it should have been completed in minutes by CIC accessing the...

@ St Clair-RQ-Preliminary review completed, referred to level 2 decision maker

Re: @ St Clair-RQ-Preliminary review completed, referred to level 2 decision maker With CIC the only time to feel any sort of optimism is when your are holding a Canadian passport with your name on it. I was feeling optimistic 20 months ago after I did my test and was told by a...

Re: @ St Clair-RQ-Preliminary review completed, referred to level 2 decision maker Looks like call centre agent did not give you accurate information.

Oath Timeline after test at St. Clair Office

I honestly don't know it this is the governments fault is it the operative management of CIC. The whole RQ farce had one purpose and that is to increase the CIC budget. CIC deliberately created a backlog by delaying applications and then suggested to rework the system to solve the problem it...

Oath Timeline after test at St. Clair Office

They have an illogical logic which states "process applicants in reverse order". They actually admitted to it in a new wire on their website. They say that new applicants are getting citizenship less then a year after applying , and now they are (graciously) working on older applications.

Oath Timeline after test at St. Clair Office

Congrats ! We have a similar timelines. Looks like they are now working on October 2012 applicants and when they are done whey will move to the next month in their list which is September 2012. (and then August and then July and then June etc.)

    Decision Made after Test?

I have been waiting 3 years for my oath so you are complaining on 10 days :). I did my test in October 2013 which is more than 1.5 years ago and still checking my mail for the letter.

    RQ before test , timeline

I support this observation. Some agent will look into your file and make a true effort to give you current information. Other agents will brush you off with the "36 months" standard answer without making any real effort give you the full information. I had a case where an agent pretended to be...

    2011 and 2012 Applicants

The article says "New citizenship applications are being finalized in a year or less, and it is expected that the backlog of older files will have been eliminated by the end of this fiscal year" This is basically saying that they have focused their efforts to process new applications in less...

Oath Timeline after test at St. Clair Office

I would have been willing to pay 200$ extra just to have my file resolved in a reasonable time-frame and have it processed in First In First Out (FIFO) order , rather then the twisted Last In First Out (LIFO) order which is currently applied to 2011-2013 applicants. In fact, if I am willing to...

Oath Timeline after test at St. Clair Office

I think they are required to give some kind of answer within a reasonable time frame regardless of case complexity. It does not have to be positive , citizenship is a privileged not a right. But they owe the applicant some answer, dragging an applicant processing for years for no reason is...

Oath Timeline after test at St. Clair Office

Sorry to hear that. Seems like you were less fortunate even then the rest of us unfortunates. Some rq applicants who applied later than you in 2012 already received oaths (Balajir) and even 2013 applicants with RQ have their file approved (Vinaypuri) . I suggest going for Mandamus and if you...
