well if you apply for endrosement and pay fee accordingly they cannot issue you a new passport the challenge will be unnecessary explanations.....

no it will not lead to hassle as they want your name as in the passport..... yes it may require unnecessary explanations if the vo wants to know why...... but it is ok just tell them it is an acceptable practice

It will not lead to rejection but delays are possible. To fill any forms especially immigration forms you need to fill surname (as it appears in your passport), this is where the problem occurs and then the unnecessary explanations etc. Go to the Indian consulate and tell them problems with...

Thanks for the reply..... so it seems that it is normal practice at Delhi to stamp a courier delivery rather than signed by a person receiving the courier.

London has one of the best services. They even respond to email enquiry within a few days...... although the website says 20 something days for general enquiries response. I think the applicants who have been alloted London are really lucky. Good luck to all.
