    August 2014 Citizenship Applications

Yup, mine is blank too (box 36). Not to worry though. I had ordered my CBSA report and it stated my original entry date of 2006. Plus they have my study permits etc on file, so I'm sure all will be well.

August 1st 2014 - Date for implementing Citizenship Law

I'm sorry to say that I was part of that new program, where they moved my file to the Ottawa Pilot Program from Buffalo. I remember folks who applied before me, got their PR, 9-10 months after I did. :-[

Processing times appear to start reducing ...CIC update 01/08/14

Being a call center agent is part of the duty sometimes. You need to be versatile. Also, all the guidelines are always posted for them in a booklet which they just have to follow. It's a distilled version of the law that covers 90% of all cases. I'm sure they will be able to handle it. You can...

    August 2014 Citizenship Applications

I came to Canada in 2006 as a student and became a PR in Jan 2012. So I was able to count 2 years as non-PR towards 1 year of my required residency for citizenship.

Date on online resident print out

Hi, I'm signing my application on August 1, but I printed out the document today from online. When I print from Chrome, it gives me the date on the top left for July 26. Will that matter, or should I do it on August 1 itself? Thanks, ottawaResident

Quick questions on a few citizenship application questions

Hey everyone, After a few years of hiatus, I'm back. This time applying for citizenship! Got a few quick questions from the application: Question 6D: 1. Do you have PR status in any other country. Does that mean PR status other than Canada right? Question 6E: 1. What should I wrote for the...

Looking to hear stories of people affected by Citizenship Act reforms

You're completely wrong about this. Just because they don't stamp your passport, doesn't mean they don't keep a record in their systems. Your PR card and/or visa is swiped everytime you enter the country. Even when signing the Citizenship application, on the last page you give CIC the permission...

    No Surname - CEC Application

I think if you don't have a surname, then leave it blank. If you right "NA or Not Applicable", the bar code generator will assume that "NA" or "Not Applicable" is your surname and will generate a barcode based on that. You don't want that to happen. If you legally don't have a surname, then I...

General Observation on CIC immigration process

I've been visiting the forums even after I got my PR. Really as a side comment.....I really feel bad for people that applied before Sept, 2011. I think they got shafted in the two part process of half their application being processed at Buffalo and the other half in Ottawa. Seems like Sept...

Filing taxes in Canada -> temporary to permanent resident

Hi, I had a SIN beginning with a "9" under my old work permit and study permit. This was a temporary SIN. I was filing my taxes electronically using a tax software. I'm now a Permanent Resident and have a new permanent SIN beginning with "5". How do I go about filing my taxes now? Can I still...

    SEP-2011 Applicants

Hey torontouser, I had submitted my file to the Buffalo office. When I got my AOR it came from the Ottawa office saying that my file had been transferred there for faster processing. My medical requests were also from the Ottawa office that I got along with the AOR. Even my visa issuance...
