    August 2014 Citizenship Applications

Lol what? I think you're missing the point of this forum then. It's to report and be open and honest in a quick manner. What do feelings have to do with this? If I post here then at least those who are waiting can take proactive action and start enquiring about their case through proper...

    August 2014 Citizenship Applications

Called up the 1800 CIC number and they now have a new automated system. I went through the options and selected "Citizenship Application" status. It said that if you sent in your application after June 19, 2014 - then it is not being processed yet. At least they have some sort of automated...

    August 2014 Citizenship Applications

Well today is the last day of August 2014 applicants. Seems like there was a huge rush in June. 4 weeks since I sent mine, 3 weeks since it got there. Still minimum of 5 weeks to go before we can even think of anything showing up in eCAS. What do you guys say?

    AoR questions

A few questions. I sent in my app on August 1 and I know it's early. But, 1. How does the AOR arrive? By email or regular mail? 2. How do you check your eCAS with PR number/client ID? xxxx-xxxx or xxxxxxxx? Thanks

    August 2014 Citizenship Applications

Good luck man! Doesn't seem like there are many August applicants yet! It's already 1/3rd into August and I only see a handful of people. As for your question, I'm hopeful. Who knows maybe our applications will be the first ones to be handled from start to finish by one CIC officer. It won't...

Planning to send application via Canada-post registered mail. Which address?

The National Prepaid envelope doesn't require a signature but comes with a tracking number. I sent mine last Friday and it got in this morning. Again, I had sent it to the PO Box 7000 address.

The "intent to reside " clarification by Chris Alex

While I understand your concern and trust me I'm paranoid as well, because you never know what the future holds for you...I won't have the ability to keep dual citizenship as India doesn't allow for it. But Canada is also signatory to some UN resolution on avoiding any of its citizens from...

The "intent to reside " clarification by Chris Alex

Sometimes I wonder if it'd just be easier to add one line in the bill that says "once you become a citizen of Canada, you are free to leave etc. in accordance with the mobility section of the Canadian Charter of Rights". Something as simple as that. But then again I am not a lawyer just like the...

2 pieces of ID for citizenship - problem

Thanks everyone! Pressure off my mind. And you're right, Ontario health card expires. However I never got any notification and my license expires in 2019. So I'll have to go in and manually get it renewed! Thanks :)

Planning to send application via Canada-post registered mail. Which address?

Ummm I think courier address is for FedEx, ups and purolator. Just because you are sending by registered mail (assuming no signature required) it's still considered regular mail. I bought a "National Prepaid envelope" from Canada Post and sent it to the PO Box 7000 address.

2 pieces of ID for citizenship - problem

After reading another post, I just noticed a mistake in my application. The app is still in transit by the way, and hasn't reached Sydney yet. For the 2 pieces of ID that they required it said I can supply a passport, drivers license or health card. I suppled my passport because of the bio...
