Difference between Permanent residence and Citizenship?

Do you know how difficult it will be to get a visitor visa considering my wife will not be working? I know this is a Canadian visa forum, but perhaps someone may know about this... FS

Difference between Permanent residence and Citizenship?

That makes sense, but for my wife, she will be a stay-at-home. Not sure what exactly we need to prove. We only want to be able to go over to do some shopping...only a day trip. What about my other question about where to get the visa - home country or at the US Consulate in Canada? Thanks, FS

Difference between Permanent residence and Citizenship?

Do PRs need to apply for the visa, say to the US, in their home country? Or can you do it from within Canada? How does having PR status in Canada make it any easier in getting a visa (for the US)?? Thanks, FS

How to file official complaints against CIC services, performance, ...?

'He' definitely sounds more like a 'she'...not that I'm saying women complain more or anything, but he does seem to remind me more of a woman than a man. And yes, he has been complaining for as long as he has been posting. Perhaps he should have stayed in Egypt. FS

How to file official complaints against CIC services, performance, ...?

He/She is still within normal processing times. He/She is complaining because that is what he does on this forum. He/She complains about everything to do with this process. Not once have I seen him/her write about something positive. Imagine what it must be like for his/her...

Is my marriage recognized in Canada?

It 'should' be acceptable. That is the key. You never know, so I think it's best to registar again in Canada. No big deal. FS

Is my marriage recognized in Canada?

I think we will register again in Canada just to be sure there are no issues. We do have our original marriage license as well as a notarized translation. Long time, Charlie. How are things? My wife's PR card is on its way to China. Landing was a breeze. My wife (and I) cannot wait to...

Is my marriage recognized in Canada?

Hi all, I was married in China and we have a Chinese marriage license. However, a friend of mind told me that my marriage will not be recognized in Canada. Do I need to register our marriage when we arrive in Ontario? According to my friend, if our marriage is not recognized, if we were to...

Who's missing characters on pr card?

My wife's card is fine. Shows her family name and then her first name under it. Note that signatures do not appear under the photo on new PR cards (effective from Feb 1, 2012). I'd contact CIC and let them know of your concern. It probably won't be an issue. You should photocopy the COPR...

How to file official complaints against CIC services, performance, ...?

Remember that the OP has been crying about CIC for months now. He/She was definitely not born and raised in Canada based on the endless grammar mistakes. If he/she was born and raised in Canada, then we ought to be 'complaining' to the ministry of education!! I wouldn't pay any attention to...

How to file official complaints against CIC services, performance, ...?

Right. So even after you get the visa you will continue to pursue CIC in an effort to change the system...famous last words. Here's how it really works: you get the visa and forget all about CIC and move on with your life. Stop crying over spilt milk. FS

    Residency Obligation

Do you really want to go through the hassle of sponsoring again? I think most get the shivers when the landing interview is finished and the PR card is in hand. FS

Can my husband travel while waiting for PR card?

It would be much better to have the PR card, as the process to obtain a travel document is quite annoying, i.e. more paperwork to submit, time, expense, etc... FS

    What to make of this...

Thanks again, Sweden. We are staying in China until September, so CIC has about 6 months to get the card finished, though I am pretty sure the address change means they are ready to send it out. I really can't wait until my wife becomes a citizen. I am sick and tired of dealing with all...

    What to make of this...

Thanks, Sweden. I just checked the processing time and it shows '33 days'. It was 44 days not long ago, so yeah, we are really hoping the address change means they are ready to send it out. As for the photos, the reason I asked was because my wife was wearing a bobby pin (just one) to hold...

    What to make of this...

Hi all, I just checked my wife's e-cas and it now shows her 'current mailing address' as the one we provided at the landing interview (the one where we want the PR card sent to in Canada). Last week it still showed the 'current mailing address' as the one in China. The 'current home address'...

    b4/b4a forms

I know, but it didn't seem that anyone was interested in what we were bringing in at the time of landing. Perhaps when we fly back in September they will check what items we are importing and make sure everything matches the stamped B4. Honestly, I don't think they will bother. FS
