Hi all,

I just checked my wife's e-cas and it now shows her 'current mailing address' as the one we provided at the landing interview (the one where we want the PR card sent to in Canada). Last week it still showed the 'current mailing address' as the one in China. The 'current home address' changed a few days after landing to the address in Canada. Is this a sign that the PR card is nearly ready to be sent out?

If there was a problem with the photo for the PR card, how would they notify us?

Thanks,
FS

Hey FS,

It's probably a sign that indeed your wife PR card is being processed. Not sure if that means that it's sent out yet, but the PR card times have been going down, so hopefully they will send it out soon...

For pictures - I'm not sure, as mine were OK!

Good luck,
Sweden

Thanks, Sweden.

I just checked the processing time and it shows '33 days'. It was 44 days not long ago, so yeah, we are really hoping the address change means they are ready to send it out.

As for the photos, the reason I asked was because my wife was wearing a bobby pin (just one) to hold her hair in place. I asked the immigration officer at the landing interview if it would cause any problems and he said 'no'. Still, it's something that I could see causing problems...hopefully not, though.

I don't think you should worry about it - I had my hair pulled back and it wasn't a problem... if anything, it makes it easier to see your wife's (lovely) face! :) so it should be all good. I thought my pictures were not very good quality ( for a weird reason they came out very very yellow!), but turns out it wasn't an issue.
And quite a few people have reported getting their PR card quite fast - I waited 62 days for mine, but I honestly wasn't in a hurry as I'm in Canada, visa-exempt so I could leave and re-enter if needed, and I didn't need the PR card for anything in particular - I could present the signed COPR as a proof of my status... it was nice to get the card - it's pretty fancy, and fits easier in my wallet than the copy of the COPR, but apart from that, it doesn't really change anything! :)
I'm sure you'll be fine!

Thanks again, Sweden.

We are staying in China until September, so CIC has about 6 months to get the card finished, though I am pretty sure the address change means they are ready to send it out.

I really can't wait until my wife becomes a citizen. I am sick and tired of dealing with all this...
