I won't comment on the debate here - only say this....

Every government agency should have a formal way to file complaints and independantly audited.

Every. Single. Government Agency. All of them.

The best way to encourage fraud, misconduct, stealing, and the like is to have no system of checks and balances. Corruption is rampant in government, beyond the scope of what most people care to believe.
I agree. But can you imagine the volume of complaints and the amount of money it would cost! I don't see how it could be done anonymously, and you would have to be 100% guaranteed that it wouldn't affect your application in a negative way.

There's corruption where the person involved doesn't even consider it "corruption". Just look at the sense of entitlement running rampant in (some) applicants' posts on this forum/board - seems to be getting worse than when I first arrived here, good lord!

Entitlement has become a big issue in many places, not just Canada and not just limited to immigration.

The only thing I've ever been entitled to is my opinion. ;)

And your husband is entitled to your opinion too right? :P

That's more required duty than entitlement :P

I'm glad that I'm not the only one noticing this! I thought I was having some pretty rude thoughts when reading through some of the more recent boards, but it's becoming more and more obvious that other people have the same feelings that I do!

I've learned that you can tell a lot about someone by their grammar and vocabulary.

Remember that the OP has been crying about CIC for months now. He/She was definitely not born and raised in Canada based on the endless grammar mistakes. If he/she was born and raised in Canada, then we ought to be 'complaining' to the ministry of education!!

I wouldn't pay any attention to what he/she is complaining about this time. We all complain from time to time, and I am no exception, but to go on and on ad nauseam is so bloody annoying!

I suspect that he/she is an angry person.

Not clear to me either what all the complaints are about CIC. General complaints about the length of the process, rude personnel, sure, but what's up with all the "corruption" and "justice" talk? Having dealt with INS and the DMV in the states, my tolerance level for bureaucratic incompetence is admittedly pretty high ;D.

Just dealing with the public school system has left my tolerance level high... but now that I think of the DMV I shutter.

But yes, he is basically complaining that his app has been on Ottawa for 13 months (which is the processing time for Ottawa). Apparently his application was sent to Buffalo and when the office closed they sent the files out randomly, and Ottawa is working on them according to when they received them, not Buffalo. I don't know if this is true, though. I was nosey and looked and scanned through his older posts, and he always has something to complain about.

I'm surprised no one ANSWERED the question. Whether anything happens of it or not, is up to them..

Before anyone says that's just for Ontario, yes, and surprise surprise, Ottawa is IN ONTARIO.

See here: http://www.ombudsman.on.ca/Make-a-Complaint/Who-We-Oversee.aspx

"CITIZENSHIP AND IMMIGRATION (MINISTRY OF)"

Personally, I don't see much of a reason to complain, but if you have to, go for it.
Thanks some people just don't get it!

The tendency to whining and complaining may be taken as the surest sign symptom of little souls and inferior intellects. - Lord Jeffrey

And just for the record, people were answering how to file a complaint against a CIC. It's not really Ottawa's fault here, it's Buffalo's.

It seems some people are interested in fairness only when it benefits them personally. There were files in Ottawa before Buffalo closed and those applicants would like a decision too. It`s only fair that the Buffalo files take their place at the end of the Ottawa queue in order received, otherwise they will be jumping the queue.

Actually, if you look at my generation (the 80's children) our spelling/grammar is TERRIBLE. I fear for my children O_O
