Most of the jobs are remote work now and you can explain the situation to your manager, that it's urgent. That's what I'd do anyway, I would hate for my citizenship process to be delayed by who knows how many months, just because my manager didn't approve for me to leave for a couple weeks.

Won't work, the criteria for applying for urgent processing is quite clear and you don't meet it. In fact, it could backfire in your face and get you an RQ. Ask the company to hire you as a remote contractor until they begin processing H1Bs.

@dpenabill Great illuminating post. So, in your opinion, how do you suggest that people who did indeed "travel abroad" after applying for citizenship, reduce their RISK of getting RQd? It would be ridiculous to expect them to come back to Canada permanently. There must be a better solution...

Just looked at the sheet and seems like a few people got their applications changed from 'Application Received' to 'In Process'. This means processing has begun! Expecting a 6-month or more delay to citizenship depending on if they can begin processing application as quick as they were pre-pandemic.
