I'm afraid, agents can't really confirm either your file is lost or not. Meaning, you can't be sure base on phone chats with CIC. People are thinking to reply as an option, but seems like at the moment all of us are just patiently waiting!

Agree with you! And seems like CIC agents don't know what to say in these situations and don't really have knowledge. Hence, they can't be helpful. The other solution might be to contact your MP and tell them what's happening. I'll give it time till holidays and if nothing, will proceed this way.

Same here. I've been waiting even longer - since Oct 16. Nothing from them AT ALL. Getting really frustrated! And my feeling tells me, that they are applying some other approach here, and that I'm not gonna get it directly in the nearest future. Very weird! Nov applicants started getting AOR...

I know two individuals who never got AOR from CIC (applied 1 and 2 years ago). They sent them materials to prep for the test 3 - 4 months after the initial application date. Is anybody else aware if such an approach is still in use, or AOR is a Must now??

Just Google "CIC Application Status", click the link which will take you to the CIC web-site and follow the simple instructions! :) If your application is In Process you'll see the comment. If not, it's not in process yet.

What is FP - Federal Parlament? And what is the request?? Poor applicants - they have to get important info from CIC piece by piece

I think I did last time for my PR application. (if I understood correctly what you meant). Right now they have 0 records on my citizenship application as it hasn't been opened yet.

Agree! I really hope, that the late AOR won't slow down the whole process. But right now, I realize, nothing is predictable with CIC...

I assume, they are slowing down with tons of applications received in Oct. I applied on Oct 13. No AOR, no single reply, no news from CIC at all. And obviously, my file hasn't been opened yet. That's WOW!!! :-( Don't really understand their approach! Nonsense!

Your PR can't expire My Friend! Your PR card can! If you are planning to travel outside Canada you have to renew it. If not (until you get the passport), just forget about it ;-) Good luck!

Personally I called them twice. Each time was a completely different outcome. Nobody stops you from contacting them. My point is that most likely they won't be really helpful. But you can definitely try. Oh... funny... I still remember you from PR application discussion 2.5 years ago :) Were...

Plus, if you take a look at Nov applicants, no one has got AOR yet. That means, they are still working on October files. And their phone system still plays the same message: "If you applied on or after Oct 19, your application hasn't been processed yet". (it's been for a couple of week thou)...
