Got photo request today. Landed 29th Jan. Do they send photo requests to everybody by default? Not sure what's wrong with my photo. Even if I take new photos they are going to look pretty much same specification wise. Duh!

It's better if you link your PR card application to you CIC account so that you don't have to call them every time to check status. Use UCI number and your name to link it.

Depends...if you are not a criminal then it gets cleared in couple of days to a week. If you are a criminal it might take longer.

There is no fixed duration for which you have to stay at a job. Once you are a PR no one can stop you from switching jobs. It's like provincial nominations. No one can force you to live in a particular province.

I visited Vancouver recently. It's a very beautiful city but the climate is pretty depressing which is true for all parts of Canada. But if you are fed up of crowded cities like Hong Kong then Canada is a good option but better live with family here otherwise you might go into more depression...

They didn't use the printed photo in my case. They returned it to me with the client copy of CoPR. It doesn't make sense why they used the other (non printed) photo instead.

Ok..but maybe not the back of photo. My photo attached to cic copy of CoPR doesn't have the details on backside.

Yea, it's more or less the same way Indians have been abusing H1B.

I wish the NAFTA thing could benefit PR holders to some extent but unfortunately it doesn't. I would like to have an open gateway to US for work or tourism and also be able to make a choice between the two countries if I get a better opportunity from either of them.
