I think you have to land before your medical expire. So last date for landing will be your medical expiration date

Background checks in progress today. No email. Just noticed when I logged into my Cic. Acc to gcms my background checks were completed by the end of May 2016. Received email a day after update

Background checks gone from not needed at this time to In progress for my friend. September 3 2015 inland applicant. ** surprisingly no email from Cic saying there is a update on your file. They just signed into my Cic and noticed the change. Mine is still not needed at this time

I checked with pnp office regarding the same. They said yes you can apply for express entry but you have to withdraw current pnp application. So personally me past 13 months better to wait for couple months. If I don't get PPR by Jan 9 (16months). I will cancel and put my application in...
