You can use hangouts to call to +1 613-944-4000 for free, but CIC is on a christmas break returning only on Dec 27th, so I do not think they will answer any calls or emails until then.

Have you called to verify the reasons for the ghosts? It could be that your application has been approved and moved to the LVO.

I think my application is idle as well, but since October. So much that I am thinking in how to 'force' the application to start moving again. I have read that requesting notes could do that, since someone needs to read the application to redact sensitive information. Well, in my case I ordered...

yeah... the fear of SS is high now. I have only 25 days left until the 6 months, so it is weird for the security not to be started yet.

Nice... I think I can wait until I complete the 6 months, but it is good to have another option. Last time I called it took me a lot of time just to enter the queue, and there is always the possibility of a moody agent picking up the phone.

Is it possible to raise a CSE just to ask for a status update? How long they usually take to answer? I am curious about the progress of my security, if it has already started or not, but it is not worth the hassle of a call.

Aren't you trying to press the numbers too fast? Some instructions can be skipped by pressing a number, but others you have to listen to until the end.

I would, but I do not have any real 'excuse' to bother them with a status update other than curiosity.
