    CIT 0002 questions — 2, 3A, 6B

For the moment being, I'll write down the date I came with the intention to live, not the first date I entered Canada (a 2-week trip to visit my boyfriend at the time). And since I'm already including an explanation letter for question 2, I'll include a paragraph with the other date.

    CIT 0002 questions — 2, 3A, 6B

I got my PR Card renewed (not replaced because of name change), but yes. Name change occurred in October 2014, PR Card expired in December 2014, and I applied for a PR Card renewal in May 2015 (and already received the new card). PR Card has my legal name. Okay, so I was correct.

Thanks Legal name change. I never used my husband's surname.

    CIT 0002 questions — 2, 3A, 6B

Thanks! I'm sorry about not having written very clearly. I meant that the application was returned approximately a month and a half later, but I wouldn't send CIC until much later the paper included in the application which gave me two options: resending with the required documentation, or...

Name Spelled wrong on Ecas - Should i be worry

Actually wrong, or just truncated? If it's not truncated (which is due to lack of space), then contact them and inform of the problem.

Long absence from Canada- PR status lost?

The explanation that I got from the people at BCeID (for those not from BC, you can read about what it is here: https://www.bceid.ca/aboutbceid/) when I called (after getting initially rejected since my PR Card was expired — my new PR Card arrived 9 days later and I opened another account since...

Long absence from Canada- PR status lost?

This is only an anedoctal evidence, but: I've had no problems using my COPR for that (except for the university; when I studied in one which required the PR Card to be presented every semester I always had a valid PR Card in hand), even many years after landing. But yes, it could be a major...

Long absence from Canada- PR status lost?

I wouldn't say that the employer was wrong, just cautious. The employer, in my opinion, would be wrong if they made claims as to necessary documentation for employment (say, allege that without a valid PR Card handy they couldn't employ a certain individual), but in this case they didn't — or at...

    Letter from Employer?

I was going through the instruction guide and the required documents, and I was somewhat surprised that they don't require a tax assessment (unless I missed something, which is always my fear heh) — which is one of the few documents I'm still waiting on. So I'll be able to send it soon (I have...

    CIT 0002 questions — 2, 3A, 6B

Hi, I'm working on my citizenship application, and I have some questions/reassurance needs. Thanks in advance! Question 2: I have applied for Canadian citizenship before. I answered 'yes,' but still have to find out when they received it so I can put down the date — it was returned to me...

Is PR Card renewal mandatory for those who are visa exempt?

My first thought was 'why in the world someone would spend this long without applying for citizenship...' heh But hey, whatever people want to do with their lives... :) Thinking about costs, being Canadian would cost more, given that the passport costs more than a PR Card renewal. Even more if...

    Received PR Card: no signature?

Hi all, I just received my new PR Card, so from mailing application to me receiving my PR Card at home took just over two weeks. My question is: why is there no signature on mine? Did something change in the system? My old PR Card from 2009 (which I'll destroy right now) has my full signature...

SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP, PARIS VO DECEMBER 2014 OUTLAND

They wouldn't request for this fee if they were going to deny your application. At least in the visa office that I delt with, it always meant that after being asked to pay for the RPRF the person would get a passport request right away.

Need urgent help - PR card renewal

I've noticed that people applying with a low number of days in Canada (be it barely meeting the 730-day requirement, or a little over it - like yours) have been consistently getting their applications sent for secondary review, especially those applying for urgent processing.

Days outside Canada for PR renewal

I included day trips in my application, since it is stated on IMM 5444E the following: "21. TRAVEL HISTORY: Have you travelled or lived outside of Canada in the last five (5) years (or if you became a permanent resident less than five (5) years ago, since becoming a permanent resident)? Include...

how long to see the status on ecas !!!

They are currently processing applications received up to March 30, 2015. See: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-card.asp I believe it'll show up once they start processing your application. If something was missing, they'd likely have returned to you already.

When to Apply for PR Card Renewal?

At most you could be inconvenienced if PR Card is required for identification purposes and you don't have a valid one. I'm taking the CELPIP test today and will have to use my foreign passport for that, and also I applied for BCeID account and was told at the point of service that my identity...

APPLIED PR CARD RENEWAL ON URGENT BASIS

I'd like to share my timeline with you guys, and found that the urgent processing thread would be suitable. Tried to access e-Cas just now. Tried THREE times and could not access it, and since I was repeatedly not having any success accessing it I started to get nervous. Then decided to use my...
