I finally broke down and called the call centre today. The woman was as helpful as she could be. Said the sponsorship was approved and our application was sent to Ottawa for processing and that LA would issue my PR. How does one know when the Visa office finally has a file? eCas is just not...

I find that I can use the file numer and my information on Ecas and it works.

Mine does say medi received. My doctor, in the us, said all medical results go to Ottawa... Maybe that's just for the states.

Forgive me in advance if this question has already been answered, but how will I know if my file has been transferred to a visa office? Our sponsorship approval letter said we were sent to Ottawa. But will our file get sent somewhere else now that Buffalo is closed?

The receipt for medicals (which is completed by the physician) is supposed to be enclosed in the application package. So I think the correct answer is yes, at least it was for our outland application.

This may have been answered elsewhere... but as I am a US Citizen, and the US is a Visa exempt country will CIC request my Passport?

I have no idea... I've seen US outland applications taking 3-4 months when the 1st step is completed. Where did they transfer your case to? I see that you have Buffalo listed as you VO.
